It would be absolutely horrible if one of our computer alpha geeks went to his site and made it crash like the Hindenburg. So don’t do it. It would be wrong. No, really. Forget I ever said anything.
I can see where DitWD is coming from, but pay attention to this bit:
Don’t click on their links. If you are curious, make sure you click on the general link (which I guess is just “alexchui.com”) rather than the spammers’ personal versions. With a bit of luck, soon they’ll be posting “Don’t bother with the SDMB, you get fuck-all, let’s go somewhere else.”
I’ve noticed that the posters all seem to be new folks, who, with their first post, post a link to the place, the thread title often has something like “eternal life” in it.
So, for me, I won’t click on their links at all (after the first time), and ignore their threads in general. hopefully when they see zero responses to their threads, the links taken out by mods, and few views, they’ll tire of thier game and find some one else to bother.
Alex Chiu’s site was featured on the SD homepage as a Weird Earl (still is in the archive). Not a big mystery as to why this domain showed up in ol’ Alex’s logs as a big referrer. I bet that’s what started it all.
