If results in November are as bad as feared, is it possible that the Democrats will insist that Biden resign from office?
No

Please pardon my language, but just where the fuck do you get your notions?
DIY proctology.
Indeed, CHealy7, you could be the only person stunned at actually how not too badly he’s been doing.
Has this ever happened with any President? And what makes you think they’d start now?
No, because Michael Moore will have replaced Biden by then.
Forget about it Jake. It’s Crazytown.
If the results are as bad as feared, Biden’s handlers will have no choice but to cease the medical regimen, unleashing his inner rage. At first, nobody will notice anything. And the string of high profile political assassinations, while obviously noteworthy, will have no clear suspect. But eventually, thanks to intrepid online questioning, people will start to connect the dots…
Your noble pursuits have not gone unappreciated, is what I’m saying.
For Democrats? I don’t kmow of any. But Niixon was pressured oretty heavily to resign, and did so rather than face impeachment.
The only way Biden is asked to resign is if he does something so shocking that his own side has to admit that he needs to go. Something that would allow them to threaten him with impeachment or an invocation of the 25th amendment if he didn’t step down. I have no idea what that would be, but the severity of the offense is probably correlated with his popularity rating. If he drops into the low 30’s or high 20’s, even his own party might turn on him.
If the Republicans win the House and Senate this year, they could impeach him and have him removed from office, but they won’t because I’m guessing they’d rather run against Biden than anyone else likely to replace him except maybe Kamala Harris.
Well, impeach, sure; but you’re not figuring on them to win the Senate by a big enough amount to have him removed, are you?
I love you
I don’t think it’s likely that the Republicans will even get a filibuster-proof majority. If history is any guide, when incumbents have been under 45% approval, the o5her party might pick up 40-50 seats in the House if everything goes their way.
But I think gaining more than a handful of seats in the Senate is unlikely just given who is up for election this year. 2024 looks much worse for Democrats in the Senate structurally, but 2022 isn’t as bad.
There are also five incumbent Republicans retiring from the Senate, and only one Democrat. In the House that’s flipped with over 28 Democrats not seeking re-election vs 13 Republicans.
So I expect big Republican gains in the House, but not enough in the Senate to kick Biden out of office by themselves. But if Biden becomes a big enough drag on the Democrats, you could see some Dems jumping ship and voting for impeachment just to improve their own odds of getting re-elected.
I’d back off on the crack pipe, Sam.
Republican threats to impeach Biden are always based on the assumption that Trump was impeached groundlessly. Therefore, Biden can, too.
Republicans are dimwits. There were clear and reasonable grounds for impeaching Trump, on both occasions. There are none for impeaching Biden.
Fuck all the undemocratic right wing chuds.
They’d have to flip 17 seats in the Senate, which would be an impressive feat considering that only 14 Democratic-held seats are up this year.
You don’t have Rudy Giuliani, Math Consultant working for you, do you?
Well, if there were actual grounds for impeachment/removal, it is possible that some Democrats would actually do the right thing. That is of course proven to not be the case for members of the QOP.
Bet they invent some. There’s just gotta be something on Hunter’s laptop!
BENGHAZI!!!
(It’s gotta work this time)
