Can I change my UserName.....

…without having to change all of my other SDMB member info.

Sorry, I’m sure I should already know this but I couldn’t seem to find anything in my Profile page that allows me to change my UserName (password, sig, etc., “Sure”; but UserName, “No”).

When I first joined the SDMB a couple of years ago I didn’t see any point in being anonymous (this was the first online forum I’d ever participated in). But now…well gee, I just want to come up with a really pithy screen name and don’t want to be perceived as a newbie and:

  1. get that condescending “I’ll teach you how to use the SDMB CORRECTLY!” from those sanctimonious types who are on the SDMB 24-7 and seem to have no life outside of it, or
  2. get the glurgy “welcome to the club” smilies and hugs from those really scary types who can’t seem to differentiate between real relationships speaking to absolute strangers in cyberspace.

Because I’m a curmudgeon…and now I’d like to be a curmudgeon with an alter-ego.

So, what’s the straight dope?
