pfbob, e-mail one of the admins and if you ask very nicely they might just change your user name for you.

Lsura Johnson is right. Don’t re-register, that is frowned upon. And expect this to be closed or moved to ATMB.

Thank you both, I thought I should post it there, btu then I thought it is a question requireing a factual answer (though maybe I’m just making excuses for my laziness).

Email her and tell her that you’d like your username changed. Giving her a suitable reason would be nice. And chocolates.
