Can I filter cached hits from a Yahoo search?

Lately when I have gone to Yahoo! to try to find something, I have noticed that most of the hits take me to secondary search engines. One thing that I’ve also noticed about this annoying phenomenon is that the bottom of the hit shows that the page is cached.

Is there any way to set my Yahoo! search terms to disqualify cached pages?

No, Yahoo search hits cannot be filtered in your cache. This is why Yahoo is phail.

What search engine would you suggest I use then, when I want to do something simple, like look up the website of my daughter’s junior high school?

Have you tried Google? If so, what is it that you don’t like about it?

I think you’re just noticing a coincidence. If the results are bad, either your search phrases aren’t specific enough or Yahoo!'s results just leave something to be desired.

Try Google, as ZipperJJ suggested.

If you insist on Yahoo!, however, I whipped up a custom searcher for you that’ll filter out all cached results. (using the very cool Yahoo Pipes! service). You can compare a search for “high school” there with a regular Yahoo! search and you should notice that all the results with a Cached link are gone.
