well yes. The OP is kind of a strange question.
The couple of inheritances I have been involved in went perfectly smoothly. Well, I tried to give the money in one to my brother, but he wouldn’t take it. (He had contributed FAR more to the support of our father than I had. It seemed only fair. He wanted to keep things simple).
I assume and believe that the drama inheritances are notable only because of their rarity. I mean, it isn’t your money, why fight over it?
absolutely. 3 grown independent children, one of them the executor. Sold off the property and anyone who wanted mementos took what they wanted. The veteran in the family got the war memorabilia. There wasn’t much in the way of items we wanted because our parents lived a simple life. Our Mother already set everything in motion for an easy transition.
We each selected items made by our father. If anybody wants what I have they’re welcome to it. What we really got from our parents was a good upbringing/childhood and that’s something shared, not coveted. The hard assets were sold and most of the furniture given away.
