Can the Democrats win the Alabama senate special election in December?

They don’t stop counting when the AP declares a winner. Right now, Jones is ahead by ~10,000 votes, a margin of 0.8%, but they’re still waiting to get vote totals from 162 (out of 2,220) precints. The NYT puts it this way:

ETA: Your post is the most likely outcome, but it’s not yet determined.

This particular tide doesn’t appear to be crimson.

The big posters besides the screen say “JUDGE Roy Moore”…

That should be former, or expelled Judge. What a sad case of hubris…

Me as well - never more pleased to be flat out wrong.

MAGA!!!

We just did!

I’d say he done been judged. Judged not acceptable for the Senate.

LOL, oh, snap, scr4!

When I was a kid, it was known as the Solid South, solidly Democratic, that is.

My bet is he goes after McConnell and the Senate Republicans for not ‘doing enough’ to support his candidate. Maybe a few snide remarks at Senator Shelby, who voted for a write-in candidate instead of Moore (and told the media about it). Right now the write-in vote is less than the difference between Moore and Jones. So expect that to hit the fan.

We shall see.

So will Trump delete all his tweets supporting Moore?
One for posterity.

The people of Alabama did the right thing.

Best I could manage with the resources available.

And found wanting.

“I tried to help Roy Moore but he didn’t take my support soon enough.”

Heh. Wasn’t criticizing your approximation of 'Bama colours. I was rather suggesting that something like this would be more appropriate:
Roll Tide!

Looks like only Jefferson county left to count - and they’ve been going 2-1 for Jones.

Well played, Sir. Well played.

I agree, I think this is the most likely way Trump will react to Moore’s loss.

Wrong kind of Democrats, though.

Isn’t that more along the lines of Auburn?

Who won the Iron Bowl this year anyway?

More FAKE NEWS covfefe from the FAKE NEWS MEDIA! I lent Jared and Stephen Miller my smartphone - they sent those tweets, not me. MAGA!

McCain’s death wouldn’t help, Arizona has a Republican Governor as well as a law requiring that a replacement be from the same party.

If McCain was incapacitated but had not resigned, that would be different.
