Looks great!
That looks so cute!
I’m taking a sweater break and knitting a pair of socks using the Yarn Harlot’s Good Plain Sock recipe. I like the pattern because she makes you really think about how the sock is constructed.
My felted bag is finally completed!
On felting, the variegated thread in the brown did not stand out as much as expected. It is only faintly visible. Now I’m really glad I added the stripes, because it would have been dull without them. However, I totally overshrunk the bag, which is a bummer.
Also, in the photo, the yellow looks oddly bright/washed out. It’s actually comparable in color tone to the red and orange.
One of the JoAnn’s I used to work at is closing and I bought a bunch of sock yarn to make baby hats. Tomorrow is my daughter’s ultrasound, so I’ll know which color hat to knit first!
I don’t knit (trying to learn), but I thought this knitting bag ornament pattern was adorable and I’m thinking of doing it in crochet or kicking up my learn-to-knit program.
Finished the hat to go with the sweater. Hopefully it fits. I have a feeling it might be a bit big, but better big than small.
Hi. I joined the Dope just last month, but I’ve been on Ravelry for almost 3 years now! June 2008? That can’t be right… Anyway, I’m going to suscribe to this thread and try to post every project I finish. Right now I’m working on http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/drift-2
See you around, everybody!
The dead fish hat is the best thing ever. I’ve gotten the pattern, even though I couldn’ t possibly complete it yet, and my kids aren’t big enough to wear it. Must practice…
And the Swedish Fish mitts/socks are so cute! I don’t think I will EVER be good enough to knit those - but man are they awesome.
She’s going to look darling in it.
Finally uploaded some pictures. Sock in progress and cardigan.
I know several of you have already seen it (and signed up, yay!), but there’s a craft exchange going on over here.
Started a baby blanket for a friend who’s expecting. This one. My first blanket. I like how it’s turning out so far.
That’s so pretty. I really like the Brooklyn Tweed patterns. What yarn are you using?
I received some silk yarn from India on saturday. OMG swoon, it’s is soooo beautiful, handpainted in shades of blue, green and grey (similar to upper far right on this page except without any turquiose). I am thinking of making a skirt, and using it as a decorative edging. I only ordered 220 yards, as I really wasn’t sure what I would get.
In other news I am very close to finishing my Melinda the witch which is a birthday gift for my friend’s daughter. Just have to attach the hair, the skirt, and the legs to the torso.
A worsted-weight, 75% wool, 25% cashmere blend in ivory. It’s Australian wool but the yarn is from a Korean company. Held double for the blanket.
I would LOVE to get some silk yarn but it’s really hard to get in Korea.
I bought it on Ebay from a vendor who ships worldwide. Not sure what the exchange rate does for you, but the yarn is competitively priced compared to similar stock sold in the US.

Thanks for the link! I’m tempted to buy some and try my hand at the Shipwreck Shawl. Dunno if I’m quite ready for that though. I really should finish my Willoughby scarf first.
I’ve been browsing around on Etsy lately for nice yarn and bought a silk/nylon skein from this seller. Squee!
Just finished an afghan I started work on a few years ago - combination of setting it down and taking it back up again, and a very complex pattern. I couldn’t find a large picture of it on line, but here is the best one I could find. It’s actually not flat, there’s quite a bit of relief/dimensionality involved. If I get my crap together with the new camera I’ll take a picture of it.
Anyhow - next project is knitting socks. I’ve attempted that in the past with no success, and here I am trying again. Found a book of patterns where you start with the toe of the sock, and so far it seems to be going well. I mean, it looks sock-like rather than a sagging bag so maybe this time it will all work out. I am a little miffed I couldn’t seem to find sock yarn in a solid color, it’s all self-striping and variegated and odd things. I found other yarn I thought might be suitable, but decided to go with Official Sock Yarn until I know what the heck I’m doing. Likewise, I kind of wish I’d gone with a fancy stitch pattern, and plain stockinette can get boring, but for this pair I’m interested in getting things like the toe and the hell done well and saving the stitching derring-do for next time.
Show us your afghan!
I can’t be bothered to try knitting socks. I’m pretty sure I would suck at it. I think once I finish this blanket I’ll try some lace shawls.
