Is that legal?
I know it might not be detectable, but there was some noise during the election about foreign support of conservative groups, and I was under the impression that even foreign donations through third parties were disallowed.
And we have to apply the rules to everyone, even the ones we like.
It should be noted that Matt’s 9.2 percent of the vote is almost twice that of the NDP’s overall share in Quebec. Clearly he did something right.

Americans and GingeroftheNorth, I appreciate the sentiment regarding donations, but I will have to put the kibosh on it. Sorry - I know your motives are pure, but as has been pointed out, those laws are there for a good reason.
(There was an interesting article recently about another Queer New Democrat, a woman in Newfoundland, who received a substantial cheque from Rosie O’Donnell. She had to return it with gratitude, of course, but it was interesting.)

Slight hijack - so do I. For the longest name I couldn’t refrain from reading his name as metamucil. My eyes would see matt_mcl, my brain would say metamucil.
