Canadian Troops Stand on Guard for the Queen, Led by First Female Officer

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation this July 1st, Her Majesty invited the Canadian Armed Forces to provide the guard for Buckingham Palace.

Tomorrow, when Canadian troops will be standing on guard for the Queen, they will be led by Captain Megan Couto of the Princess Patricia Light Infantry.

She will be the first woman to command the Soverign’s Guard at Buckingham Palace.

The band of the Royal Canadian Artillery will lead the Canadians down the Mall to the Palace.

Way to go Canada…

Hey ho, way to go O Canada!

Congratulations Captain Couto and the Princess Patricia Light Infantry!

Fixed that for you.

"The band performed the theme song to Hockey Night in Canada. "

No.

It doesn’t matter, it’s not allowed. It’s against the rules to edit another’s quote box in any way, so even if you’re helping out, try to resist, please.

No problem, I did consider leaving it, but then Snowboarder Bo repeated it, and given what I do, I couldn’t let our proud VP lose the “Canadian” out of PPCLI.

I will try to resist.

Now that would have been classic!

I saw her leading the guard on today’s TV news. Great job, Captain Couto!

:smack:

I knew that, I really did!

My apologies to all “Pats” everywhere.
