This thread’s getting a little dull, I’ll stir the pot by saying Rupaul.
That’s the spirit! I’ll piggyback with Margaret Cho and Kathy Griffin. No hate, more like indifference, but certainly “Less Favorite” among the non-male population. BTW, is RuPaul now deemed female? Not that it really matters!
Oooh, Kate Gosselin, good one. I tried watching that show a few times when it first started, but would always turn it off because she is such a monster. I would look at the guy and tell the television, “Dude, you need to get out of there.” Apparently he felt the same way.
Little Nemo, I just had a thought that might help get this show on the road.
What if we jumped straight to the Sweet Sixteen phase of the Madness? Instead of the traditional Top Ten approach. just play like we already got to the Sixteen level.
If this notion has any appeal to you, why don’t you start such a thread and use your list (updated with any late entries) and ask for lists of Top Sixteen “Least Favorite Living Female Human Beings” (or words to that effect)?
I’m regarding you as owner of this process, so it’s just a suggestion.
Cross dressers and drag queens do not necessarily identify as female. Rupaul seems to identify as a gay man or perhaps genderfluid, which isn’t the same as identifying as female.
I did not read the entire thread but didn’t see my nominee in the compilation list: Pauline Nyiramasuhuko the first female ever convicted of genocide and genocidal rape. She was convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda of ordering rapes and genocide.
May I fervently plead with those of you putting the final thing together to strive as hard as possible to avoid this boiling down to a simplistic reflection of the Right vs. Left SDMB membership by keeping the pairings Like With Like as much as possible, for as long as possible?
Pairing Victoria Jackson against Jenny McCarthy, for instance, would be bad. While they are both total airheads using their now-ancient fame, (which in both cases arose from being simultaneously fuckable and mildly amusing, which was once considered a near impossibility for a woman) to get attention while they passionately opine from stunning ignorance and deep diatress about things they are clearly not even capable of grasping, and would therefore seem to be Like with Like- the distinction between them would almost certainly end up being a reflection of the political. The Left would probably choose Victoria more often and the right would choose Jenny. (Disclaimer: anti-vax is not a Left position, but it is, as my crowd would call it, frookymakarooki, or “crunchy”- hippie-ish, an offshoot of the Left positions on corporations, The Man, big pharma, etc… I am a dedicated liberal’ so no need for my sisters and brothers to disassociate from it…)
Much more interesting and challenging to keep the pairings on the same political side as much as possible, as well as trying to keep the other contributing factors as level as possible…wealth, appearance, intelligence… Stupid, Unattractive Unloved Lefty Female vs. Intelligent, Attractive Lefty Female is probably unfair to the stupid unattractive one…and so forth.
Harder, of course, and requires straining one’s powers of objectivity to the breaking point, but WAY more fun and interesting.
Maybe it would be better to do a “vote for 10” or something, and then count up the votes, and produce a list of the the top 10 vote-getters, from most to least (of the top ten). I’ll volunteer to do the counting.
I genuinely love the way this is turning into a team project, and I’ll be happy to take a back seat to those who have clever ideas in how to proceed. Y’all have at!
Okay, here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to leave the list up for nominees for the rest of today. Tomorrow I’ll finalize the list and start the voting. I’ve decided to start by a qualifying round. The list will be split up into sixteen groups and people can vote for two choices in each group. The winners and runner-ups in each group will be seeded and go on to the main competition.

So last chance for nominations. And let me know if I’ve accidentally missed anyone who’s already been nominated. But remember the “must be living, non-fictional, and an actual woman” rules.
I am a total sports moron, so while I have heard the terms, I am clueless as to meaning. Please, what is “seeding”? Something similar to what I described?
I didn’t see what you described but seeding is basically taking the list of names and ranking them by how strong they are perceived to be. The more likely a person is to win the whole thing, the higher the seed, #1 being the highest. Since we’re doing a tournament bracket with 4 sides, there will be 4 #1 seeds.
I’d like to add Margie Simms, Fred Phelps’ wife
