Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann are no-brainers, in every sense of the word.
Nikki Haley of SC. She makes every state employee answer their phone by saying “It’s a beautiful day in South Carolina”. That plus being a brain dead Teabagger.
Jan Brewer of AZ, though one could never accuse her of making it on her looks.
Lynn Cheney. What an entitled bitch. Wants to start her political career with a run for the US Senate. Her and her evil father take every opportunity to bash Mr. Obama, often for no particular reason and always in the wrong factually and/or morally. Her only purpose in life has been to prove that at one time Dick Cheney got an erection.
Miley Cyrus. Good heavens, girl. Put that tongue back in your mouth before you put someone’s eye out. And put some clothes on.
Yes, but it’s been a long time since I did. I try to see everything she’s in, because her personality overcomes her questionable choices in roles. She and her sister are about as diametrically opposed as the Deschanel gals. Emily is why I continue watching Bones.
My list follows. I eliminated the people who are dead or fictional. I’ve just listed them in alphabetical order rather than sort them into categories or ranking. And I’ve padded the list with some names I found on online “most hated women” lists.

I make that 91 names, and I appreciate the alphabetizing move. Surely there are 37 names lurking in people’s minds that can fill this on out to a convincing starter set.
I did have this thought in relation to some people’s desire to remain anonymous in this effort to develop an SDMB Consensus List: publish the whole damned list and make it a one-vote anonymous poll. That way nobody’s name (except those of us who have posted thus far) can be targeted for revenge lawsuits and murder.
Hey, y’all! If you’ve had a modicum of fun with this thread and its theme, perhaps you might enjoy revisiting (or visiting for the first time) some similar stuff from an earlier time (zombie candidates mostly) that I had the pleasure of starting and which received at least 50 posts:

That last one, being the most recent, has the best chance of still having working links.
I read it as FEMALE, so your choices are not applicable. But I have to say I’m impressed you know Dean Corll, a rather obscure serial killer.
I agree though, to qualify you have to include those who committed serious crimes like murder, atrocity, etc.
That is not to say Sarah Palin is an atrociously annoying, useless has been who from time to time gets undeserved media attention. God I hate this woman! Ann Coulter I can tolerate.
I personally think POS gives excrement a bad name, but Susan Smith (if that’s who you mean) was mentioned upthread a while back. Definitely a candidate for the list!
May I respectfully suggest that you continue to add parenthetical phrases when two people share a name, so there is no confusion? In particular, Barbara Bush (Mrs. George HW Bush, NOT her granddaughter), and Lea Thompson (the TV journalist, NOT the actress).
Traffic seems to be slowing down on the list. One of the things that keeps me from dashing off a list of ten (or so) names to pad out the count and get us closer to 128 is that I tend to live by that line from The Lady Is A Tramp:, “She never bothers with people she hates” so if I find some person irritating or annoying (or worse) I just pass by on the other side. It’s those talent-free screaming non-entities that get shoved into my face on TV that bother me most, since I can’t do much more than change channels, mute the TV, or leave the room. I’ve already listed, or endorsed others’ listings, the truly dreadful ones, so it’s up to those of you who pay more attention to the dreck to come up with more names.
Are there untapped categories we have yet to explore?
I have another one for the dead people-- Christine Maggiore. She was an AIDS denialist, who, not surprisingly, died of AIDS-related pneumonia a few years ago, but not before she killed her three year old daughter by refusing to take AZT while pregnant, breastfeeding the child, and never testing her for HIV, all the while running an organization that convinced thousands of other HIV+ people not to take anti-retroviral drugs in favor of vitamins and positive thinking.
No sweat on that issue. It wasn’t long before the “dead list” got big enough to draw attention. And since the thread title didn’t preclude “dead people” and the OP’s wording wasn’t emphatic enough (I must suppose), it just kept ballooning in number. Easy to get (or stay) confused. For that, I apologize.
Even so, almost 100 names in the “legit” category should help us get to the magic 128 without too much extra effort. Once we get to 120, I suggest flipping open a phone book and pointing to a name! Not likely to get many votes anyway!
We could also go at it the other way: pare down to 64 from what we already have.
