Can't access my Facebook account

A couple of days ago, my browser updated and that logged me off Facebook - and now I can’t log back in. At first, it just didn’t recognize my device - which is the only device that I’ve ever used Facebook on. I tried to report the page as hacked, and to send in a password reset request, but Facebook just said I needed to log in from a device they recognized. Today, I tried clearing the cache and cookies on the browser, but now Facebook says my password is wrong and I’ve been asking for too many password resets. The only way to contact Facebook is through Facebook - which I can’t do since I can’t log in, and they don’t have a phone number (at least, not one that they answer with a human being or even an AI) or an email address. I have an account with Geek Squad and two different techs there tried but couldn’t fix the problem.

Any ideas? Maybe tomorrow or Sunday they’ll decide that they’ll let me change the password?

Any suggestions would be appreciated - I feel like I’ve tried everything.

And as her in-house tech support, I failed too (I don’t have Facebook, by the way)

Does it make any difference if you try to log in from the Facebook app on your phone instead of a browser?

Unfortunately, that doesn’t work either.

There’s a possibility that your account has been hijacked. It happened to me a few years ago, and my phone, email, and password were all changed within a few minutes. In my case, though, I had accessed it on a different device, and was able to recover it that way. Have you asked one of your facebook friends to look at your account and see if anything looks different?

If you have an Android, you can try the phone number recovery method: https://www.facebook.com/help/2566101586983877/?helpref=uf_permalink&parent_cms_id=283100488694834

Thank you. We’ll try that too

Asked a friend to check that out

Gave that a try, and it appeared promising - then when we tried to get it to send a code to @Dendarii_Dame’s email address, we got the ever-helpful “Something went wrong” message.

I mean, that’s a pretty apt descriptor for all of Facebook…

Sorry you’re in this situation =/

Thanks.
