I’m having trouble receiving my Yahoo e-mail on my iPhone. Everything seems configured correctly. It shows my folders, and I can retrieve mail from the Bulk (spam) folder with no problem. However, when I go to the Inbox, it says it is downloading mail, and then … nothing. No error, no mail. I can hit “Download 25 More” as many times as I like. Each time it declares it is downloading the mail, then displays an empty inbox. Any ideas?
I dunno, but it does more or less the same thing with Gmail as of the 1.1.3 software release. I get old mail - like from a month ago - but when I click "retrieve 25 more’ it does nothing.
I did a little research, and we aren’t the only ones having an issue.
Eliminate any unusual configurations:[ul][li]Make sure your iPhone is on firmware 1.1.3[/li][li]Go into the email preferences and remove the Yahoo mail entry you created.[/li][li]Create a fresh one, selecting Yahoo when offered by the iPhone. Provide your credentials and so forth.[/ul]You should now be at least back where you were: able to see folders and such.[/li]
This should be risk free since Yahoo is push-enabled: you aren’t removing anything from the server until you tell the iPhone to trash a message.
Any weirdness beyond this point may be caused by connectivity issues; Edge has been having issues this week in parts of the country.
You might wish to try over WiFi vs. Edge.
