Caps in my username

On the subject my username, around when I reached 500 posts I decided to switch to the version of my name that makes the pun funny. I pretty well trust everyone on the board, so I’m not to concerned when I tell everyone that my last name is “Smalley”. The lowercase “e” compared to my name in caps is a “Small e”. The old way I posted was “clayton_e”. Lost the point. If this really does bother some people, I’ll change back, but just wanted to inform the dopers why I switched to that format.

Whatever floats your boat.

What I wanna know, and the reason I came into this thread, is why your name keeps showing up in All Caps on the Forum page, but in lower-case here in the threads.

Doesn’t it have somthing to do with how you enter it when you log in? I know there was a thread here about that at one time, but my searching skills have failed me.

I’m trying to figure out why I came in this thread. Good to know a reason to do so does exist.

Well,

I just started a thread over in MPSIMS, and on the new thread/reply page, in the box where your user name is usually pre-filled in, I changed mine to all lowercase and it shows up like that on the forum page, but normal (Mixed Case) inside the thread.

This post should be all lowercase too.

And so it is. Now that’s WEIRD.

I logged out and signed back in as IaMpUnHa just to see if there’d be any change or denial of access or whatnot.

Evidently there’s no change. ::shrug::

Yes there is.

On the front page the last post to this thread was by IaMpUnHa.

Now it’s by yojimbo

Start a test thread to see it yourself.

Reading your post again I may have taken you up wrong.

If so please ignore little olde tired hungry overworked me.

Just testing…

Uh huh.

The name will appear like normal (like how you signed up?) in the thread, but in “last posted to” and, I assume, thread started columns on the forum page, the name appears how it was typed in that time.

How confusing.
