I have a parking sticker that is supposed to go on the inside of the rear window of my car. It is quarterly, so I have to remove the old one and put a new one on every three months. My rear window has the the defrost wires and I’m afraid of nicking them with those razor blade scrapers.
Is there some kind of product that allows me to attach any sticker to it, then attach it to my window that will easily come off? My Google Fu is very weak today and all I get are websites that sell window decals.
get a sheet of cling plastic (oil change places use it for reminder stickers, packing protection on the display faces of electronics are uses of it) at an office supply store.
cut it an inch bigger than the parking sticker. don’t apply the parking sticker to the window or to the cling plastic, don’t peel anything off it. hold the parking sticker in position and apply the cling plastic (with an inch boarder all the way around) behind it to hold it to the window. reuse the cling plastic for as long as it works.
or attach the parking sticker to the cling plastic and use once.
2" wide transparent tape should do the trick. For that matter, apply a drop of rubber cement to each corner of the decal and press lightly against the window. Then peel off and replace as needed.
Or how about telling the parking administrator that it’s 2011 and not 1980, and that most cars have rear windo de-foggers built into the rear glass and that’s you shouldn’t be attaching decals to the inside of the rear windshield. They need to change the required location of their decal or change the decal so that it can be applied to the outside. Surely you can’t be the only user with this problem.
I’m waiting for the Garfields that stick in your rear window come back
What I used to do when I had a car, was make a plastic pouch and then I just stuck the sticker on some cellophane or used tape over the sticky part. You could then slide the sticker in and out of the pouch and it was visable. You never had to stick anything on but the pouch which I made, and that was a one time thing
This is the kind of sticker that has the adhesive on the side that is supposed to be seen, that is, it attaches on the inside of the window. So when I got the sticker, I couldn’t really see what it was because of the paper they used to cover the adhesive.
I guess I thought there would be a product for this type of thing by now. Something marketed for this particular application. I know some colleges have this type of parking sticker as do some urban parking lots. I figured there would be a lot of people looking for this type of thing.
They want the the sticker on the rear window so they can drive by and see if you have it displayed while the car is parked, presumably nose first in the parking spot.
