On one of his standup shows or something he actually did the hack move of “explaining” one of his jokes to an audience member who was not laughing (obviously he was one of the few bright members of the crowd) as though the only reason the guy could not be laughing at such a funny joke was because he didn’t understand it. Yeah right.
I’m surprised he hasn’t sent Randy “The Natural” Couture to Mencia’s house to rip his head off yet.
I think of Mencia as a poor man’s Chappelle, and if he were posting in this thread you know he’d turn that into a joke about migrant lawn workers, because he’s just that daring. 
Chappelle sometimes offered actual insight about race. On his show, Mencia’s act consists of repeating stereotypes and insisting that they’re true and everybody should stop denying it. I don’t think it’s really self-hating, but I think it’s cheap and regressive.
Every time I see Mecia, I can’t help but think of the following Simpsons skit:
He can be quite funny at times. The notion that he doesn’t tow some questional notion of a ‘Hispanic line’ is utter bullshit. He has his own opinions. Leave it at that.
That said, he has far too many gay jokes.
