Brant Parker, cartoonist and co-creator of The Wizard of Id, has died., not too soon after his Id collaborator Johnny Hart, who wrote the strip.
I hope you meant “not too long” – otherwise you must have really not liked that strip.
That’s bizzare, coming so soon after Hart. Does this mean that they need to find a new illustrator, too? It seems like, with both of them being replaced at essentially the same time, it might cause something of a discontinuity in the strip. Or are they going to retire it?
“Wizard of Id” has been around so long, they could probably just run strips from 40 years ago, like my local paper does with “Peanuts”.
According to the linked article, the Wizard strip will continue as a collaboration between the Parker and Hart families. Parker’s son has been drawing the strip since 1997.
