Cast your bets! How long will my 'Beto for Gov' sign remain in my S Texas yard?

One week from today, around 6pm CST, the following will go up:

Though living in blue-ish San Antonio, I am still surrounded by Rabid Anti-Democracy Trump Fan, in a neighborhood with many angry men who get their news from propagandists. In 2016, for example, I had a dead cat thrown on my lawn the day after the election.

So, make your choice! And if you want to lay side bets, ala ‘it will get disfigured but not stolen’, go right ahead.

Your sign will last this long, JohnT:

  • It won’t last the night (gone by 8am Sat)
  • It won’t last the weekend (8am Monday)
  • Gone in a week (6pm the next Friday)
  • It lasts the month (1 month from next Friday)
  • I have faith in Texas (lasts through the election OR gets destroyed naturally)

Each of the choices are independent of each other, so ‘it won’t last the weekend’ effectively means it gets stolen between 8am Sat to 8am Mon.

I put lasting one month. I’m guessing that people won’t care about it much at least until Beto wins the primary, and probably until it’s close to the election. So it may not make it through the end of October, but it will most likely stay for a while yet.

I picked 1 week — to have it done in by the following Monday seems awfully quick, but then again I should probably never underestimate how low of a bar Trumpists fail to clear.

I hope you have a good webcam, with night vision capabilities, trained on the sign the whole time.

Naw, I was good. I’m pretty sure I found the guy via my neighbors B&W camera, but there was not enough evidence to really pursue this. Any lawyer could’ve poked holes in the footage, the quality was too rough to sustain reasonable doubt.

Not going to rig explosives or electricity to the sign, lol.

Me, I don’t expect it to last a month.

This is the guy that promised to take Texan’s guns away from them if elected. That’s not a winning message in Texas.

Did he say “guns” or did he mention specific weapons in particular, for example the AR-15, or the AK-47?

Because it sounds like there has been some “massaging” of the message for political purposes here. I’m sure that Republicans are saying that he’ll take all their guns away. But then they lie and lie and lie, so there’s that.
