Cat People: Do You Kiss Your Kitty?

I do, and she expects it.

I pick Susie up just before I walk out the door and give her a hug and a peck on her little furry cheek and tell her I’ll see her “in the morning”. (She may not require this assurance, but I do!:D)

She also gets hugs and smooches in the morning when I return and at any time for no reason at all!

She protests vehemently sometimes, but…

“Hey! You’re an inside-kitty! Some things must be endured!”

And boy does she BITCH!

TMI Alert! SCROLL DOWN SCROLL DOWN SCROLL DOWN SCROLL DOWN!

Decided to “hang around” didya?
Well, Susie is the only “female” that will come and “see” me while I am “on the throne”.

That means something to me, dammit!

And yep, I pick her up even then. She loves me, I love her!

Why can’t it be that way in real life?

Q

Yep.

I kiss all three of them. They don’t seem overly thrilled but they’ve gotten used to it.

One of them used to try to jump into my lap when I was as you described there at the end. I finally persuaded him not to do that.

Now I just wish I could get him to stop crawling into my underwear.
(This is a TMI thread isn’t it?)

I don’t kiss my kitty, but my daughter does. She’ll kiss her kitty AND my kitty. Both cats visit me on the throne, but usually it’s because they want some fresh caught water from the sink. Sometimes they just want to visit, though.

I hug my kitty a lot. She especially needs hugs on the rare occasions when I venture out of the house and then return. She says that I’m not allowed to go out. SHE thinks that SHE’S allowed outside, but she’s not. I’ve had to go to the hospital a couple of times since I got her, and she was EXTREMELY upset. When I was gone for a week, she didn’t talk to me for DAYS.

She’s a Siamese girl, so she’s pretty vocal and affectionate. She is usually in the same room with me, unless, of course, there is food to be had in another room.

Sometimes I pick her up, hold her on her back, and rub her tummy, which apparently tickles her senseless.

Most cat’s we’ve owned seemed instinctively to do the eskimo kiss, touch noses and then ‘wipe’ her face on mine.

My brother’s cat seems to show affection by dribbling constantly on your leg. Saliva virtually pours out of his mouth!

I used to gently hug and kiss my cats. All sorts of daft stuff. Rundi was the one who always insisted on joining whoever was in the littlest room at the time.

I miss them.

My youngest does that. She is an absolute fraidy cat. I’m the only one in the world allowed to touch her and only at her convienence. My other 2 are lovey lovey, kissy kissy all the time.
they all get to go out for an hour every night. They can even tell time, because they know they can’t go out until after 7pm.
Well, suddenly, one of the girls has decided. she’s an indoor cat. When the others are hanging on the door know , she marches up the stairs to bed!

I hug and kiss all of my cats and my dog. Not the fish so much. Used to kiss the ferret and the rats when we had those, too.
One of my cats (now deceased) used to rear up onto her hind legs to head-butt my mouth if I bent over and made kissy sounds

Potty time has always been Quality Cat Time in my house.

Jake does - he demands them. If I’m on the laptop and haven’t petted and kissed him in, oh, half an hour, he’s right there demanding attention. He only gets kissed on top of the head though.

Scout doesn’t accept them well.

And Jake visits when I’m on the toilet - no kisses then though.

I nibble on the back of her neck and atop her head, and breathe warm air into her fur. I guess that’s kind of kissing, on my side. She can’t get enough.

Ab-so-kitty-lutely!
The dogs, even more so.

I kiss my cats. I think for the most part, Mitty is indifferent to kisses, but Catman used to try and kiss me back. He would put his mouth to my cheek, and bite SUPER gently. I think that was teh best he could do. It was sweet.

Right on top of their heads when I’m massaging their necks and feel really loving. They both seem to know that it’s my way of telling them I love them, although they act like teenagers getting smooches from their aunt. “Yuck! Ptooie!”

I also nuzzle them with my nose and cuddle them. They don’t purr very loudly, but I can feel them vibrate when I do this.

I love my kitties  Couldn’t live without them.

Yeppers. On top of the little furry heads.

And Sulu has to get in the bathroom before the door closes - weird cat. Tabby’s starting to get that way too. So now it’s a race - who gets there first!

The occasional avuncular smooch, yes. I do love my kitty cats.

I miss my kitties…

I too would kiss them on top of the head all the time. Whenever I would come home from work, Ashley would jump on top of my bass amplifier to get better height, balance on her back legs and extend her front legs for a hug while making a whining “hi, daddy I missed you” noise. I would lean down and hug her while she rubbed her face against my face…

Oh yes, hubby and I kiss them all the time. “Our” cat, Mia, will kiss him back, too. When we lay down to go to bed, she has to give him kisses (we are talking like a deep dental cleaning here).

Mia also has to come into the bathroom with me, but she doesn’t want in my lap or anything like that. I think it’s more of a “she knows she can go anywhere she wants” kind of thing.

Yes, all the time. One drawback is that I always end up with some fur in my mouth.

My cats are also big kissers. C.C. kisses my nose every time I present it to her. It’s very cute. Not so cute is Rex, who uses nasty, slobbery kisses to wake you up whenever he wants to play. If he doesn’t get you up right away, he tries to jam his tongue in your mouth. Gag.

I kiss her all over (well not ALL over) but up and down neck and sides. She’s a shoulder cat, not a lap one so she right up there anyway.

No. He sheds too much, and I don’t like getting fur in my mouth. I do do the “air kisses” thing, though, where he’s sort of sniffing my mouth (usually after I’ve had a tuna fish sandwich) and I make kissy noises at him.

He comes to visit when we’re in the bathroom, but that’s mostly because he’s hoping we’re going to take a shower while we’re in there. He likes to lick the water out of the soap dish and off the walls afterward. Weirdo.

My girlcat puts her nose to mine when I move in and make kissy noises. I kiss all three of them. They like head-butting, too, when I put my forehead down.
