CD burn stops 1/2 way through the 1st song?

What could be going on with Windows Media Player?

I have made a copy of a music disc, lost it, made another copy, destroyed it, just tried to copy it again. All the songs convert, but when it begins to copy the first song, it seems to stall about 9% complete, then says 1…%, not 10%, then at about 30% copying on the first selection the message says closing disc???

Try using a CD Buring program instead.
