In the past year, he has posted exactly six times. At no time has he posted more than once in any thread. The six one-offs were:
- Aug 27, 2004, Comments forum–a discussion of lightning injuries occurring via telephone lines. This was his last substantive discussion of any issue being debated on the Board.
Over the New Year Cecil apparently decided to check out the other forums, and posted twice outside of Comments in three days:

Dec 30, 2004, GQ–a joke in a thread asking what will happen if Cecil dies.

Jan 1, 2005, MPSIMS–a joke about Cajun Man and DrMatrix.
Then, five months of silence, followed by:

This is beyond enigmatic. This is downright weird.
But honestly Cecil could be any prolific poster in here, I am sure the “sock” rules would not apply to him. And rather then him get swamped in threads or whatever, he may come on incognito.
So next time you correct someone or someone corrects you, that could very well be the Perfect Master himself.

A non-incognito posting by Cecil on this board is indeed rare. Since 2000, Cecil has posted an average of 1.12 times per month. Sometimes there would be a flurry of postings followed by long periods of silence. Must be how great minds work.
So, has anybody ever pitted Cecil? I’ve given it some thought, and it’s considered very poor form not to show up to your own pitting, and I’m sure Cecil knows this as he knows all, and he doesn’t want to be in poor form on his own message board. . .so, ya know. . .what would I pit Cecil about? Not talking to me? Ignoring me? I need fury at the perfect master, because those are the only people he’s guaranteed to talk to.
And in case Cecil does happen to drop by this thread. . .I’m mad at you. Very angry. You better watch your back, because you don’t want this pitting, son.

Well, I got a response to my very first post and five years later I’m still here, so a quick response must be good for something.
There was – some new guy was pitting Cecil for not posting to board or was daring Cecil to show up at the pit. Can’t remember the details, but the guy was swiftly banned.
Hmm, DMark hasn’t responded. I wonder if he’s been…disappeared!
