Celebrities everyone likes

That will teach me to be all pretentious and classical (or baroque) - yes, I meant Haydn - thanks Teaching Company, I want my money back (though it was totally my fault).

Can you cite this? I’ve never heard this. He is pretty universally liked by all. Seems odd I never heard this before.

Harry Morgan. The fact that he was cast in so many roles meant he wasn’t making any enemies.

Charles Lane also seems to be in that category. He was often cast as a mean guy, but people seemed to genuinely like him.

Bruce Campbell?

Doris Day

Apparently not in person.

Leaving aside the stuff from his divorce, I’ve heard several stories from different sources about how difficult he can be to work with.

My impression is that Leno is a manipulator. He always personally maintains the facade of being a nice guy. But he has people working for him that do the dirty deeds that advance his career.

Apparently everyone that has met Tom Hiddleston has only great things to say about him.

Jebidiah Atkinson?

Carol Burnett and Tim Conway. Keith Urban.

It was 30–plus years ago, and it was big news at the time.

I saw a video of Carol Burnett taking audience questions after - I guess - a show. A young woman said that she had a part in a local theater musical, singing a song that Carol had sung on stage. The young woman asked her if she would sing it, and Carol replied “Only if you come up here and sing it with me.” The mixture of happiness, amazement and nervousness on the young fan’s face was delightful. What a wonderful lack of ego, for Carol Burnett to make her fan so happy. She’s a class act, all the way.

Michael Palin.

How could anyone mention Clayton Kershaw and NOT mention Vin Scully?

Bill Murray
Steve Buscemi
Teri Garr
Mel Brooks
John Goodman
Sam Elliott
Jeff Bridges

Like Cosby, 3-4 years ago I’d have said Rolf Harris

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything negative about Alan Davies.

He’s got some issues. There was that time that he bit a tramp’s ear.

Hugh Jackman is reported to be a really nice guy. In a recent piece here everyone involved in* Pan* raves about his niceness.

For Paul Newman fans I loved this unusual piece upon his death by fantasy author Jonathan Carroll.

Even though I’ve already stated that we CAN’T really know who the Good Guys are…

In the world of sports, I don’t think there’s any American fan who didn’t love Stan Musial, and every Canadian seems to have loved Jean Beliveau.

If they WEREN’T genuinely classy individuals, they faked it extremely well.

I was gonna say Grumpy Cat, but I think we’re of one mind here :stuck_out_tongue:
