…and, so long as I’m mentioning Richard Donner and the SUPERMAN franchise, I’ll mention that Tom Mankiewicz apparently handled screenplay duties there, after he’d picked up screenplay credits for a bunch of Bond movies in the ‘70s, which explains a couple of things in retrospect.
