From time to time i come across some article about some celebrity who have a surprising boy or girlfriend.
Last i read was that Fisher Stevens dated Michelle Pfeiffer from 89-92. How was that possible ? Hehe im sure hes a great guy, but surely…
I also remember reading about movie stars who married a somewhat uglier person, usually long marriages, maybe before they became celebrities? I cant come up with anyone on top of my head, but maybe you guys remember some?
Darryl Hannah and Neil Young is the couple that surprises me every time I remember it.
Dolly Parton’s husband has been by her side since 1966. He has stayed in the background. He has been to a few of her shows, but lives a normal life.

When it became public that Keanu Reeves was dating gray-haired artist Alexandra Grant, much was made at the time of what a refreshing surprise that an A-list actor in his 50s was dating an age-appropriate woman. She’s actually almost a decade younger than him, but still…(56 / 2) + 7 = 35, so he could have gone a lot younger before it got really icky.

Personally, I think Julia Roberts’ 20 year marriage to her current husband Danny Moder who’s a cameraman, is a bigger contrast. No fame, no big title, not a famous guy, just a cameraman. And he’s still working in that field.
Meryl Streep’s been married to her relatively unknown husband for 43 years. He’s never in the limelight. They also have 4 kids, which she never paraded around in the media eye.

After a recent watching of Inside Llewyn Davis, I Wikipeded the 1961 folk song “500 Miles” (…away from home). The song is usually credited to Hedy West, who based it on assorted earlier folk songs. When I Wiki-ed Hedy West, it turns out that for 6 months she was engaged to Roger Zelazny. This was in 1961-62, prior to Zelazny’s success as a science fiction writer. (He was published in both Amazing and Fantastic in August 1962.)
I still can’t get over the fact that Gavin Newsom and Kimberly Guilfoyle were married for five years. She went from being with a California Democrat (I mean, Mayor of San Francisco to boot!) to a Trump - that’s a helluva difference in partners.
