I’ve noticed that too. I thing it occurred a good 10 or 12 years ago, or more. Or do you mean they shrunk yet again? They used to be a pretty good size (and oh so yummy) but are now just a tasty tease.
They’re still my favorite, especially to manipulate.
Here’s one: Take a four cheese one, nuke it for less than a minute or until unfrozen. Shred whatever cheese you have sitting in the fridge, slice up the olives and artichoke hearts. Add themmover pizza, toaster oven for 3-5 minutes. Don’t forget the hot peppers either!
Have you noticed they are *really *peppery? Not good pepper, but table pepper. My method of “making pizza” is to buy a frozen one and add my own sauce and toppings–but no matter what I do to Celeste pizzas, they taste like I dropped the pepper mill on them!
(I *like *the fact that they are so tiny–helps keep me on my diet of eating “almost nothing”)
I used to eat Celeste Pizzas all the time when I was in high school and college in the 90s. I haven’t eaten them much in the last several years. About 2 or 3 years ago when I had one for the first time in several years, I did notice they were definitely smaller, but I’m not sure exactly when it happened.
I just had one today, in fact. Yeah, very noticeably smaller. I used to make six slices for each pizza, but today I did 4. And as Eve notes, it did seem very peppery. Moreso than I remember.
