I bleieve there is such a thing as a “good pedophile,” someone who isolates themselves from children and lives a quiet life, never acting on their desires. These people deserve a little pity as their fucked up desires will keep them from ever having a meaningful satisfying sexual relationship.
Cesario is not one of these people. One thing they don’t do is go on the internet and plague message boards by posting about their desires in irrelevant discussions. Also, if Cesario is refraining from his desires, it sure seems like it’s because he doesn’t want to do the prison time, not because he thinks there’s anything wrong with it. Finally there’s more than a whiff of troll about him, the way he constantly draws attention to himself. He got three threads started about him in the past two days.
Follow up a mistaken insult (when I was in agreement with you) with another insult. Class move.

Given the words I didn’t say-----or what you thought I said-------were ‘ignorant even by the standard I normally set’ and left you “dismayed, but not surprised” it’s clear I’ve left an impression on you.
Closing your eyes , sticking your fingers in your ears , and banning Cesario will end pederism forever. If not, you are passing up an opportunity to gain insight into a group of people you may never have had contact with before. It may be helpful for you to recognize the behavior and better protect your kiddies. It is not tacit approval at all.
And this is a perfect example of why your usual mock-worthy inanities don’t deserve the effort expended to correct a misconception on the rare occasion you’re actually right. Hell, the sun even shines on a dog’s ass sometimes.

I thought one of the purposes to the ‘clean up the pit initiative’ a while ago was wear and tear on the mods. You guys HAVE to be tired of reading his crap, and everyone else’s reaction to it.
There’s a ton of things that I disagree with other dopers on, and a few dopers that I don’t get their reasoning on their views, but none of them have ever made me want to stay away. Putting someone on an ignore list doesn’t necessarily work either, since you end up realizing sooner or later when he threw his particular variety of shit upon the fan.

IMHO the likelihood that he is an actual pedophile is close to nil. Gut instinct, mostly. But he is just a little too perfect as a mild-mannered shit-stirrer.
Frankly I’m surprised so many people are giving him any credence whatsoever. Though he certainly is gross - can’t argue with that.
Very well said – this is what separates Cesario from someone who is simply struggling with an illness and with whom a dialogue might be interesting or productive.
I have a close family member who is a recovering anorexic. Part of her recovery is to avoid situations which may trigger her unhealthy impulses. Cesario’s posts here remind me of an anorexic posting about nothing but crash dieting and extreme exercise routines – maybe they’ll escape unscathed, but it’s dangerous, stupid behavior. Add in the fact that a pedophile is risking not harm to themselves by being irresponsible and stupid, but enormous harm to an innocent child (or children), and it’s beyond infuriating.
To Clarify: I meant that our society as a whole and on a little larger scale than just this board or the internet age. An attempt at intelligent discourse like the ATGG threads 30-40 years ago or limited to some areas of the US, could just as easily draw similar ire. I use this example because its far from unknown that homosexuality has occasionally drawn lethal persecution.
We have had AT threads from criminal acts.
I do not endorse his viewpoint or preferences, only his right to hold them and express them.
My POV on many issues has shifted over the years in part because of reading this board softening my stance on some things, reinforcing others. Where this would, dunno.
On a more general note, I’m fine with you guys venting and frothing and all, but I would appreciate it if you didn’t misrepresent my actions and views. MeanOldLady, you’ve been doing a particularly poor job separating what I’ve actually said from what you’d preffer I said because it would fuel your outrage. Since it’s obvious you guys don’t want me to post here, I’m willing to leave the general abuse alone, but I’m not going to ignore misrepresentations and mischaracterizations.
