Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

Pardon being late to the party - correct.

I should get one of those signs that says “One of these days I’m gonna get organezized”.

Taxi Driver

Indeed.

Yet another clue: The name of the movie was the same as that of a certain naval vessel.

Person 1: “What did he say?”
Person 2: “He said, ‘You’re welcome.’”
Person 1: “What else did he say?”
Person 3: "I don’t think he said anything."
Person 2: “You know best, as usual.”

As a father, I’ve seen this way too many times… Mary Poppins!

(ah, the memories)

Same character:
“Close your eyes ladies I’m coming through.”

This is my favorite movie - I’ve probably seen it 50 times so I’ll give someone else a chance before I answer.

Quite so!

“Wilford is divine!”

Final clue: The film’s star portrayed a famous American who would be dead by the end of 1963. If that doesn’t give you the answer, nothing will.

No one’s gotten this either!

Clues:

  • Came out in 1964.
  • Also set in the South Pacific, but more of a romantic comedy than a war flick.
  • A VERY, VERY famous actor is hooked into serving with an allied navy in his penultimate film role.

I’m glad you made that decision. Ethics is important, it’s what separates us from the animals.

I haven’t see the movie, but it’s obviously PT 109, with Cliff Robertson as JFK.

Correct, well done! The quotes are from the scene where Kennedy’s CO is inspecting the boat right after it’s been fixed up.

Well, I did have a little help!

Now try to guess the other one “set in the South Pacific.”

And someone complained that I said my movie might be a little obscure?

C’mon - indentify those outstanding three quotes!

See the above.

PT 109 was a big deal when it came out in July 1963. I went to see it with my dad and older brother.

Uhhh…Cool Hand Luke?
