Change your SDMB Location to "Obama Country"!

I’m in, though I’m not sure he’ll like it.

Funny. Anyone else?

The candidate was in town yesterday, speaking at a nearby college, but I wasn’t able to go. A friend did with his wife, and got to meet and greet him. Lucky *&#^ bastard.

The polls are tightening up. What impact will Obama’s Veep pick and the Denver convention have? Stay tuned!

I look forward to the Veeps finally being announced.

Obama has been slipping too much in the polls. He should be able to run away with this election. I do think he is correct to not go negative, but I think he needs to make this election a repudiation of Bush/Cheney and getting the Neo-Cons and Theo-Cons out of power.

His current strategy has me worried.

Me too. The next two and a half months are going to be nerve-wracking. I’m starting to steel myself to the idea of another crushing loss in November.

Ohhh, so this is where it started.

Too late for me to play?

It’s never too late to play!

Hell, yeah! One month to go, most voters think he’s won both debates so far, and the Electoral College math definitely seems to be breaking his way. I’m cautiously optimistic. And you…?

It is looking good and here is the Electoral Collegebreakdown. Though his national average is still only a small margin. He actually took a small drop this week so far. Let’s see how the Electoral College looks next week, I think it will be a bit better, several of the Toss Up states have been trending to Obama, Floridaand Ohioespecially.

Despite my refusal to change my location name, please take comfort from knowing I’ve already voted for Obama. I mailed my absentee ballot in on Monday of last week.

The bad news is my polling location is in Texas, which will probably go for McCain. :frowning:

I’ll be keeping my location, but I’ve got a free Obama-related tag if anybody wants a new one. I think it actually also works if you don’t like him. :stuck_out_tongue:

“BaRACK me, Obamadeus!”

Um, no thanks, I’ll stick with the one I’ve got.

Overconfidence could be fatal, and I’m not one to count my chickens before they hatch, but…

Yeah, that sucks, but the turnout here still may help other Democrats down the ballot in state and local races. Down with Sen. John Cornyn!

This seems like a good thread to mention something I suddenly realized yesterday: This is the first election since 1952 in which neither an incumbent president nor an incumbent vice president is running. In 1952, it was Ike versus Stevenson; ever since then, win or lose, a sitting prez or veep has always run.

Less than a day to go. Saw Obama (and Bruce Springsteen) yesterday afternoon in Cleveland, which was very exciting… on to victory!

XKCD fan?

We’ve all come a long way since I started this thread on June 6. Thank you, everyone, for your support. Here’s to President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden! God bless America.

I think we’ll all need to change our locations to “Obama**'s** Country”.

Done and done. It’s true, too. Obama carried Harris County (Houston area).
