Oh good, now I don’t have to ask a mod if I can resurrect this thread. I wanted to suggest that all of us who did the location thing now, until January 20, always be sure to refer to him as President-elect Barack Obama.
Why out of interest? I don’t understand why you think it so important. Honestly I think just saying Obama says it all now.
My location goes back to normal today.

Why yes, Indiana chose to elect a democratic president and a republican governer, many of my neighbors had signs for both in their yards.

I recall when Sally Ride went up in the space shuttle. America’s first female astronaut. While acknowledging the historic importance of her trip into orbit, she said she looked forward to the day when women going into space became so routine that it garnered no special attention. Well, it happened. No one blinks at the mention of a woman astronaut now. It has become routine.
The same with black presidents. It’s great that we finally elected one. But now someday people will look back and think it cute and quaint that we could have made such a big deal over it, since by that time it will have become so common for people from all different backgrounds to run and be elected. That will be a good day, too.
Not only that, the Obama campaign won Starke County by 308 votes. This is Starke County, Indiana, the birthplace of the KKK.
Figures, I used the “out of interest” to show curiosity and confusion and to indicate I was trying not to be confrontational at all. It looks like I only confused things worse. :smack:
