Characters in Commercials that You Hate

Did you notice that the Black couple had a white servant? Interesting…

That kid is pretty creepy, but whenever I see that commercial I can’t help but repeat him.

“Toaster struUUdel!”

Yeah, UTI means something Very different to me.

Yes- we need to have the Right to kill other people with our second hand smoke!

(True, e-cigs seems mostly safe along those lines, but the idea of “smokers having rights” makes me throw up a little.)

No, but they don’t look any *less *cool than people with actual cigarettes.

This, so much.

Couldn’t agree more. I hate realtors in general, but the smug, uber competent ball-busting cunts in this ad, flanked by the semi-effeminate dork aren’t doing much to entice me to buy whatever shit they’re selling, Lily notwithstanding.

Nope. Typical TV commercial backhanded slap at the White Male.

Straight outta the Hitler Youth! How the fuck did you get in my kitchen?

The thing that bugs me the most about the Toaster Strudel Hitler Youth is the way he pronounces “gooey”.

has anyone seen the ad (not sure if it is for cell phone service or insurance or something else) where a guy’s motorcycle has broken down, so he calls his dad – who is a hamster in a ball, rolling through the ball return at a bowling alley? The dad (hamster) says he’ll be right there, rolls out of the ball return and tells his wife (who might be Judy Greer) that he has to go. The wife, who seems somewhat dim, says, “But we were winning!”. Cut back to the kid with the motorcycle who has a goth friend who might or might not be his brother talking about what a great guy the dad is.

WTF? It is every bit as odd as it sounds.

Yeah, that’s one from the “Framily” series that has already been mentioned a few times.

I just saw it, was wondering how the hamster could survive a trip through the works at a bowling alley.

And just what the hell is he going to do when he finally arrives at the motorcycle?

The Toaster Strudel Kid commercials are funny for their absurdity.

Did you know that Progressive has a series of Flo radio commercials now? She sings. >.< I’ll be renewing my subscription to satellite radio just because of that.

Since most of our commercials have been from streaming services instead of broadcast, we often get the same repeated commercials over and over.

The ones that I cannot stand are the Verizon guy that talks to people on the street with his little companion Todd. He seems ridiculously condescending and I just don’t care for it.

WTH is it with Red ‘singing’ in every Wendy’s commercial now? I put singing in quotes because it’s just butchery of nice popular songs.

That’s what bothers you?? Not that the hamster talks, or he’s married to a woman who loves tacos??

I think those Framily ads are hilarious. They don’t make me want to sign up with Sprint, but they don’t make me reach for the remote either.

I have a (admittedly largely irrational) hatred for commercial mascots who start off as the antithesis of the company but get turned into the whole campaign.

Geico Gecko: Originally just a lizard who was annoyed and perplexed that people kept confusing him with Geico. Now he’s like Sr. Vice-President of the company or something.

Carfox: Originally an attempt by seedy car salesmen to deceive customers by feigning ignorance. “Can I see the Carfax?” “Oh, the Carfox? Right here! (waves stuffed animal)”. Now he’s the spokes-thing for the company

Capital One Vikings: Originally represented onerous fees and restrictions from other credit card companies in the form of blood-thirsty Norse pillagers. Now happy dudes acting silly with their Capital One cards.

No, that makes perfect sense. She’s cute, and tacos wouldn’t be a deal-breaker.

Is it the one where they end up dumped in the pool? If so, they are the same advert in French and German (and, I think, in the UK), so a foreign accent is completely possible. I’m not actually sure which is the original.

I’ve always hated Flo and I hate the Toyota commercial woman.

Remember the Duracell family?

Little Babies Ice Cream ad - creepy as hell:

[/QUOTE]

AAAAAhhhhhh! I am forever creeped out by these ads. Where are they from? I’ve never heard of “Little Babies” ice cream. I’m sure to have nightmares of someone eating the back of their head with a spoon.
