Charlie Rose's black eye.

I was watching a re-run of an interview with David McCullough (3/21/08) on the Charlie Rose show on PBS, and couldn’t help but notice Charlie had a pretty good shiner. He may have been a little proud of it, hence the lack of covering it with make-up.
I watch his show occasionally, and a couple of times would have maybe popped him in the eye (not really). He can be annoying.
But, anyone know the source of his black eye?
Peace,
mangeorge

He tripped on the pavement.

As a hijack, I always get him mixed up with James Lipton. Not being familiar with either of those shows over in this part of the planet, whenever one or the other is mentioned, I usually picture the wrong one in my head.

Boo boo boo! That’s way too boring. The Air ain’t that cute.
I think his lover (Travis Smiley?) gave him a jealous slap :smack: . That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Forgot to thank GuanoLad for scoping that story (boring tho it was) for me.
Thanks, GuanoLad.

Actually, Tavis was just tossing the Air to Charlie and it hit him by accident. Unfortunately, the owners of their apartment building (Jim Lehrer and Gwen Ifill) overheard Charlie yelling, “I dare you, hit me!” and assumed the worst, not realizing he was just quoting from a pulp mystery he’d been reading. Hilarity ensued.

Ah, Gwen. I love brains in a woman.
