Dave Chappelle - Charlie Murphy and Rick James

One of the greatest moments of TV ever

I’m not sure if there was a post when this came out, but this episode of Chappelle’s show I think is one of the greatest TV skits I’ve ever seen.

I think I use a quote from this every single day.

Yep.

My favorite quote is (paraphrased), *"I wouldn’t just grind my feet on the couch just to do something.

Yeah, I remember grinding my feet on couch…"*

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

All those Murphy stories were hilarious. Getting their butts kicked by Prince and his entourage at basketball was good too.

“They were settin’ all kind of fruity picks”

I think I use “Fuck your couch!” more than any other quote.

The Rick james interview in its entirely is also great.

Charlie Murphy was a funny mother fucker I was really shocked when he died of Leukemia recently, he was a funny storyteller.

All the more because it was apparently a true story!

Of course it was true. It wouldn’t be called Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood stories if it was NOT true!

What did the five fingers say to the face?

SLAP!

What year was that episode? Feels like a hundred years ago my friends and I were quoting that whole skit to each other nonstop. “I’m one of the baddest motherfuckers of all time! One of the best singers and one of the best lookin motherfuckers you ever seen!”

I laugh just remembering that.

This episode introduced “Habitual Line-Stepper” into my lexicon.

Me too. I love that.

Also, after Charlie and Eddie beat Rick’s ass and Eddie says “Rick really needs some help,” Charlie coming back with “we just gave him some help. I bet he won’t step on another sofa”

hilarious.

Wrong. WRONG! We’re talking 'bout Rick James, man!

I just looked it up. It aired in February, 2004. While looking it up, I stumbled across this:

That’s hilarious.
