Charlie Sheen fired

A shrink on Anderson Cooper was opining that Sheen is definitely not on drugs, he has reached the point where he is like that without them.

He is not just a shrink. He is Dr. Drew [Pinksy] of Loveline and Celebrity Rehab fame. So he probably is the most qualified practitioner out there to give a proper assessment.

As someone whose family has a history of mental illness, and I suffer from major depression myself, it is hard to watch. I’ve always had the good sense to never broadcast my meltdowns across the entire globe, and I hope if I ever get that urge that my family would throw me in a psych ward before they let me get in front of a web cam.

That said, I find myself with little sympathy for Sheen. I wish I had a hundredth of the resources he has to deal with my issues. He has no excuse, and this will only make it that much harder for others to confront themselves. “I am not as crazy as that guy, so my problems are nothing to worry about.”

He does not need rehab; he needs serious psychiatric help.

And I hope Sheen’s accountants have set up a decent nest egg for him, but I cannot see him working as an actor for a long time, if ever after this meltdown.

You know, this does go hand in hand with his statements about how he tried sobriety five years ago and found that it wasn’t “for him.” If he’s been self-medicating and is now devolving because there’s no chemical filter keeping his illnesses at bay, it’s going to get worse and worse.

Love it!

Drugs and/or insanity, that video is scarey!

That’s not really how television production works.

I’d bet anything his parents and siblings are working on a way to force him to get help for his illness and do some sort of conservatorship. Unfortunately, they probably have to give him enough rope to nearly hang himself, a la Britney Spears, before they will be successful.

…AND now here comes the lawsuits…

He can always fall back onto his cooking show.

Charlie Sheen’s cooking show

Jon Cryer has come out from under the bridge and admitted that he is, indeed, a troll.

"It get’s better. Not gay better, but still, sorta better.”

This morning in the CNN Newsroom:

“Anderson’s going to Japan so get the tight T-shirt and black jeans out of the vault. Roll the earthquake animation, show some sad people talking about Japan, show Japan, then cut to Sheen. Maybe we could seg with ‘Shockwaves of another sort were felt in Hollywood today over Charlie Sheen’s lawsuit against Chuck Lorre…’. Oh, get that doctor on who’s going to look all sad while talking about what an out of control freak Sheen’s being.”
Currently in the Fox newsroom:

“If Obama speaks about Japan we open with outrage over him ignoring the problems here, etc and so forth. If he doesn’t give a press conference about the earthquake then open with outrage over his disrespect of Japan. Either way, roll the computer earthquake animation, show some people looking sad in Japan etc and so forth, then cut to Sheen. Maybe for a seg we could say 'Charlie Sheen is hitting a 8.9 on the Hollywood Meltdown scale for his latest earthshaking antics…”.
Currently in the MSNBC newsroom:

“Roll the Japan footage, show the computer earthquake animation, then roll the video of Bush Sr. vomiting at the Japanese dinner. Then cut to to a 14 minute editorial about how we’re not going to join other networks in talking about Charlie Sheen. Find some cheap footage of Sheen in his heyday… Terminal Velocity can’t cost much.”
