I tried Branston Pickle last night.

It was the first time I ever had the stuff; I ordered a jar on whim while getting a new jar of Marmite. Branston Pickle is just bizarre to my American taste buds. It’s like an uneasy blend of apple butter, worcestire sauce and chunks. So, I thought maybe a spoonful straight from the jar wasn’t the right way to try the stuff. Help me use up some Branston Pickle

In a misguided gesture of international unity, I bought a 750g jar of Branston Pickle. It turns out I don’t really care for it as much as I remembered. I like it, but it seems to need some other flavor to go with it in a meat sandwich, and I’m not crazy about it in a cheese sandwich. Ploughman’s lunches don’t thrill me, either. I’m thinking it would be good in deviled eggs, but that’s not going to use up a whole lot of it anytime soon. What can I do with it?

Any other non-Brits love this stuff? I just had a grilled cheese sandwich with extra sharp cheddar and a schmear of Branston pickle and my taste buds are still tingling. Stuff goes well on just about anything.
