I was in the airport over the weekend and the news station was on (which I was curiously UNable to turn off, probably break a law or two in shooting it with a shotgun.)
In a break between updates in their quest to find the location and guest list, one of them opened up a segment with the incisive question: “So why are we so interested in the wedding?” Umm, I’m NOT interested. You are only broadcasting it because you THINK we’re interested. I haven’t heard anyone who is not in the media actually make real chat about the wedding.
Must be a slow news week.
The Washington Post has run a whole gallery of photos from the wedding, but for some reason has chosen to headline with a picture that unfortunately gives Chelsea scary demon eyes. The others in the collection are much more flattering.
Goodness, Bill looks old (see pic #5). I guess he’s just so uncharacteristically thin.

If it bothers you, you could buy a TV-B-Gone (a little electronic gizmo that sends the IR signal to turn off many brands and models of TVs (although some places wised up to the device and cover the IR receiver)).
For as much as this story has been plastered all over the news for a week, I only heard about it by reading this thread this morning. I guess I just don’t watch the kind of TV that would show this kind of news.
It’s odd, though. I thought she got married last year. I guess this is what happens when I get my news from the rumor mill.

I’m pretty sure that most men do value and judge women by many factors other than looks. I have female friends who have many of the qualities you say count for nothing. Plus wonderful female members of my family.
Most men are not as you describe, and most women most likely don’t share your view, even though they would probably agree that complete equality has not come to women yet.
I do agree that to judge Chelsea on her looks is strange and somehow twisted. Seems to me she must be pretty remarkable to have become the woman she is, given her exposure and experiences as the daughter of her parents.
On the other hand, we could be talking about Lindsey Lohan…Wonder how the comments would have gone in a thread about her. (Not trying to derail the thread; just offering a tidbit for thought)…
I just browsed through the wedding pictures they released and I must say they look very happy and in love.
Let’s tell the truth. Chesley Clinton is …ummmm…ugly. Her face is something only her father could love. Notice too…her groom wears glasses. Appaently she hid them while they were dating.
Besides being homely…Chelsey looks much older than she is. She is really going to be a “beauty (sarcasm)” in 10 years.
Knowing that family…if she ever attains some fits of passion…she will scream out her daddy’s name.

This thread reminded me that I wanted to see pictures of Chelsea’s wedding and hadn’t. I had to go looking for them. They aren’t on any of the news feeds I get. By next week she might get the People cover, or at least an inset, but not when I was at the store yesterday - yesterday it was all the Kardashians on the covers…who are nice looking women, but frankly, I see way more of than Chelsea.

Chelsea is not a Professional Beauty, y’know, the women that appear half-naked on the cover of magazines after extensive make-up and Photoshop. She’s a nice-looking woman, and for somebody that hasn’t probably paid for some surgeon’s Ferrari, she looks damn well.

And BTW, I didn’t know Chelsea got married, it wasn’t on HGTV, USA, Fox 5, Comedy Central, or any other channel I watch. Of course, I don’t get my news from TV anymore. Too much fluff.

I have received the Phoenix warning twice today, only on the SDMB and not any of the other vBulliten message boards that also serve up ads, even the ones with active banners and flash ads and many features that the SDMB lacks. I only visit the SDMB while using adequate protection.
