A friend of mine once saw a signboard saying something along the lines of “Ask us about our infamous chicken sandwich!” She said “I do not think that means what you think it means.”
That reminds me of a friend we had from Honduras. His english was pretty good, but a few word were beyond him. If you asked where his roommate was at dinner time, he’d tell you Sam was in the chicken.
Cafeteria one place I worked served something with “Portable” mushrooms.
One dinner at a Jerusalem hotel (the Inbal, maybe?) featured “duck with blubbery sauce”. Yum.
We ran a special of Split Pea Wham one day. A little punctuation would have clarified, but folks tended to like it regardless.
Also used to run a stir fry special as “Seven Professors Crossing the Road” in the grand tradition of Happy Family and the like.
Saw this gem on a van this morning: “You’re all-occasion DJ! Weddings! Anniversary’s! Party’s!”
Wonder why they left the apostrophe out of weddings? :smack:
Maybe it didn’t look right.
That is impressive though - three misspelled words out of seven, and that’s counting “DJ” as a word.
Um- What is Chickens Frenchaze? I would really like it if it isn’t Chicken flavored French Toast, but that is all that I can picture.
I did know a guy named Cord, once, and he was dating a girl named Blue for a very short time. Is that some sort of food named after him, or am I just seeing what I want to see?

“Cord On Blue” is chicken cordon bleu

I saw several delis in New York with sandwishes. I saw another one with Sandwhiches. Still waiting on that sandwitch, though.
My guess would be Chicken Française, i.e. “in the French style”. Here is a recipe.

Went to the local grade school to vote the other day. Saw a sign out front at the area for “Parent pickup and drop off.”
Umm, where do you pickup and drop off the kids?
So where do they go in?

One of the weirdest signs I ever saw was in Jacksonville, FL - a hand-lettered sign advertising “Sandwich,s” - yes, it had a comma.

Growing up in southern California, I’ve learned a bandito is a little bandit, and San Dieguito is ‘little San Diego’ a smaller off-shoot town near San Diego.
So the above would be correct – if Burro’s beget smaller off-shoots called…
