I am an independent contractor, paid hourly, so I am very flexible with times and, to some extent, places.
Good: flexibility
Bad: An hour at lunch is an hour I don’t get paid.
Abe Babe, I’m not technically downtown, but very very close - Paulina and the Eisenhower - so I can just hop on the Blue Line. But it’s damn cold and windy on the platform, particularly today.
Now that the weather is (presumably) nice and ChiDope is fresh in our memories, shall we try this one more time? How about Thursday May 29th for lunch?
I’ve got no golf planned for that day, and am always eager for an excuse to be absent from the office for prolonged periods.

Of course, if it’s easty/southy, I’ll be there anyway, just sweatier and a little later.

Missy2U, I do the occasional work-from-home days - I’ll try and plan one for next month. Are there particular days of the week that work for you? Fridays, maybe?
I’m Division and State, but could pretty easily make it downtown or into porcupine’s nape of the neck -er- neck of the woods. Perhaps Gundy and I could share a cab.
I’m south-eastish, by the Sears Tower, so if it’s not around here, after work happy-hourish might be better. By the time I got to River North, even in a cab, I’d have to turn around and go back.
Lou Malnati’s looks like it could be a good location.
It’s a doable walk for Eva and me right up Wells from down by the Sears Tower (I’m on the NW corner of Adams/Wells.)

And maybe MikeG could even stop by briefly as it is just about across the street for him.

Okay, okay. How about Stocks & Blondes on Wells and Washington? Zanshin mentioned it earlier, I believe, and if I share a cab with the lovely and talented Abe Babe instead of riding my bike I could make it.
Works for me. I am still pretty new to the El. Anybody know the closest Blue Line stop? Once I’m above ground I can find my way there no prob.
