2.) ChiefWahoo is heading upnort to the hallowed hunting grounds when? I’m off all week. Burn 3 days of vacation to get 9 days off not a hard decision as you can see…
My Turkey Day location is dependent on Saturday and Sunday’s results. Otherwise…
no fucking way are you from Almond. Unbe-fucking-lievable.
I’m a graduate of 1997. With a class of 27 people, 30 if you count foreign exchange students. When did you graduate? You know they’ve changed the Bancroft thing. I’m not sure the details, but 2 years ago they put a huge adition on the school, and now I think the 7th and 8th graders are bussed to Bancroft instead of the 3rd and 4th graders.
Chief Wahoo–yup, that is Northland College. I’m in the library right now. And if you love the potato fields of Almond so much  you ought come by sometime in July for Tator Toot–the local pathetic fair/carnival thing. In the parade a few years ago instead of candy some people threw fake stuffed potatoes. I beleive they were made from old pantyhose.
I’m going to Rhinelander Fri. the 24th and returning the 26th, Sledster, for my whole 2 big days of deer hunting. If you’re going to be in Point either of those days, let me know.
Loonie, is the Tater Toot anywhere near as much fun as the Spud Bowl in Point? Does Point still make Spud beer?
Chief Wahoo - I haven’t seen Spud Beer in a couple of years. Of course, I haven’t exactly been looking for it either. I think when the new boys took over the brewery they may have stopped making it.
Lunatic… see I was going to guess 10 years difference. I rolled out of there in 1987. We had the privilege of helping them move into the new building from the old high rise High School.
Wahoo… Friday works better for me. Next Monday I fly out to Detroit for work for the week, early. Freakin’ wind today was nasty by the way.
Wahoo don’t tell me you liked Spud beer??? Man that had the worst aftertaste…and that’s coming from someone who has consumed large amounts of Goebel, Hamms, and well…Rhinelander!! I haven’t seen it in a awhile either but I haven’t been looking.
Lunatic…you have to appreciate the Tater Toot for what it is…the town drunk. Chicken dinners and beer…Ahhh!!! Do they still have the baseball tournament?
Sledman-- I’ll bet we had a lot of the same teachers in high school; I know some of them have been around for eons. HP and Mr. Sutliff in English? Mrs. Sutliff in Math? Ms. Krueger in Science? Mr. Englebert in History? Mr. Mengle in Art?
I haven’t actually been to Tator Toot in years, despite living only 3 blocks away from it. (In the summer I have to work really early Sat. mornings, so I’m trying to sleep during most of the festivities, and cursing whatever goddamn awful country-western band is performing and the howling rednecks cheering them on.) I don’t know what they have any more; I don’t know about a baseball tournement. I think they have an old car show, now. And, yes, chicken dinners and beer. And more beer. And more beer…
I think the only jobs that change are Shop and Home Ec… that and the administration. Business I guess too… Hell we probably had a lot of the same teachers K-12.
You should work in Bayfield for the summer. Make some money off the Richie Rich’s of the world. Of course then you would have to get rid of that taste in your mouth. That ass kissing taste that is…
Wahoo…
