I am at a loss here…I dont know the proper procedure to flame a child, and I really dont think this is an appropriate place for someone his age to be. Look at some of the stuff we discuss in great detail: felching, anal, oral, and all deviant variety of sex…

And who the hell are you to say what is appropriate for an 8th grader and what he should say and what he should look at? My parents never once said I could not look at a certain thing or explain a certain thing to me. They were very open with me and I’m thankful for it because I think I am a very well developed person because of it. I am glad I did not have a parent like you, as I would grow up ignorant of the world, sheltered and basically unable to take care of myself and always be clinging to Mommy’s skirts. So I second the remark. You own M a big ass apology and you should kiss the ground at M’s feet and beg to be knocked down from that high horse you have yourself on. Flame the kid all you want. If his parents aren’t regulating his internet usage, and I highly doubt they are, then that’s their problem not yours. In addition, it’s not for the administrators of this forum or any forum or web page to determine whether or not a kid is old enough to handle such conversations that come up in this forum, other forum or site.
I stand behind the fact that it is a parent’s responsibility to ensure their kids are on line in areas they approve of. It’s bullshit that we should have to hold back because of some punk kid that may or may not be in 8th grade. For all we know he’s a she and in their 40s. And obviously by this kids words he’s well versed in cuss words and wants to take on the BBQ Pit. If that’s his choice then so be it, but don’t feel it’s your responsibility to spare him from what you want to say, that’s not your problem.
BTW, if The Straight Dope wanted to curb cuss words, they can, the software does allow an administrator to ban words on line. This is a free speech area, thank god, and hopefully will remain so.

Not only does the kid appear intelligent and articulate, he obviously has a great sense of humor too. Seems to me we need more of that around here.
