Oh my, they are soooo good. They are sinful. I could write an ode to Chocolate Chip Muffin’s, but alas, that would prevent me from eating this one. The combination of a soft, still warm muffin, and a light smattering of chocolate is too irresitable to pass up…
There’s one left upstairs in the cafeteria… should I? No, I can’t… my wife would kill me… to have two on the same day (each has approximately 1,000,000 calories) …
I… can’t…fight it!
Had me a choco-chip muffin about two hours ago (they are too muffins, stop looking at me like that, they are not cupcakes!).
I would wax further upon it, but I just had a chocolate-toffee-meringue puff that I made yesterday (from a recipe in the current Cooking Light), and my mouth refuses to acknowledge anything but that.
Of course cinnamon chip muffins are also excellent.
My co-worker Veronica teased me last week because every afternoon I disappear to the cafeteria and return with a muffin. They have double choc and triple choc (with a chocolate covering all over the top - a bit too much sometimes). But the best are from the coffee shop Tchibo down the road - a little bit crunchy on top, nice and sticky in the middle. Mmmm…
There was an old Frasier episode on last Friday (the one where Bulldog gets a bravery award) and Daphne has a rambling monologue on what it’d be like to win a lifetime’s supply of muffins. I almost wet myself laughing. Girlfriend was not impressed.
Pumpkin? The only fruit flavour that mixes with chocolate is orange, and even then in small doses.
Alex
By god, I hope you rang in on my “rasberries and chocolate” thread last week. I think it was the most divisive thing I’ve every posted. We were in the minority, my boy. It was a sad sad thing.
I agree with Alex on this one. If yer mix’n fruit ‘n’ chocolate ye best stay away from anything but orange.
I just can’t resist Chocolate Chip Muffins. I dunno why… it’s an addiction I guess. The cafeteria has good blueberry muffins, but they just don’t do it for me like the CC muffins.
Alas, I have to stop at two for fear of yet another dirty look from the cashier…(hmmm, when does she go on her break.)
I did manage to eat the last one, but the bastards made a batch of 12 fresh ones! Oh, the smell nearly overtook me when I passed by (I was getting coffee…)

What is the matter with you people ? Have you never had the delight that is a banana chocolate chip muffin ?
HOLY CHRIST I FORGOT ABOUT THOSE LOVELY CREATURES!!!
Oh my, I cannot resist a Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin to save my life! It’s been years since I had one… oh wow, I think the mere though has given me a chubby…
you know what’s really odd? I just purchased a CC muffin this morning and while I was standing in line a fellow employee informed me of the merits of buttering the CC muffin. At first I shrugged it off and thought that he was being silly, but then (when no one was looking) I tried it.
Good Goddamn it was so yummy! I quickly slathered the rest of the muffin up and ate it with the intensity of a rabid dog. Wow, that is some good stuff!
Liquid, so funny you mention banana chocolate chip muffins. For all you people playing at home, Liquid is a co-worker of mine. And this morning I gave him a banana muffin that I baked. When I baked the batch, I was this close (insert hand gesture) to putting in chocolate chips. But, alas, I refrained. Why, you ask? Well, it became apparent that adding chocolate chips would do an injustice to the banana muffin. It would have been like saying that the banana muffin wasn’t good enough all by itself-- like it wasn’t a tasty muffin in its own right. Chocolate chips are great-- don’t get me wrong-- I love them! But you can’t mess with the banana muffin. And don’t even THINK about adding walnuts to the recipe! Oh the horror!

So good to see you xBrikHousex! Alas, yes, I do enjoy Banana muffins from time to time. If you ever cook a batch of Banana Chocolate Chip Walnut Muffins I fear I shall die of pure joy.
And to the rest of ya, see I do manage to hold down a full time job!
