Chocolate-covered sunflower seeds

Why?

I like chocolate. I like sunflower seeds. But it never occured to me to combine the two. Maybe it should have; after all, they have chocolate-covered peanuts, almonds, macadamia nuts, etc. I’m sure sunflower seeds were the next step.
Again, why? Chocolate does nothing for the taste of sunflower seeds, sunflower seeds do nothing for the taste of chocolate. I don’t think I’ll be buying them again.

Has anyone else tried these things?

Now to hijack my own post. The sunflower seeds got me to thinking of other things that get covered in chocolate.

Cherries
Potato chips
Pretzels
Soy nuts
Strawberries
Insects
Coconut
Caramel
Raisins
That’s all I can think of right now. Does anyone have anything else?

I’ve seen those, they seem so very wrong. Besides that fact that pre-shelled sunflower seeds are an abomination to begin with, and should render one ineligible from any MLB game for a period of up to six months. David roasted/salted, in-the-shell seeds are the only way to go. Although I may try low sodium, because my cheek starts getting raw after an hour or so of shellin’ and spittin’.

We used to get chocolate-covered sunflower seeds a lot in Korea. My husband loves them. We mailed packages to friends who also went nuts over them. They have them here?

I’ve had them before and agree with Troy McClure SF. Roasted and salted seeds still in their shells are the only ones worth eating unless you like them on your salad (delicious… if you haven’t tried it, do so) or something, in which case you obviously need the shucked kind.

Another vote for roasted and salted in the shell.

** Helena **, I don’t know if they’re a new product, I just noticed them for the first time yesterday. They were made by David, and I only saw a tiny bag. I don’t know how they compare to what you bought in Korea.

They’re not new… I had my first (and only) bag of them at least two or three years ago. I bought them at Wal Mart.
