As a break from those comic book fight matchups, I offer one from the wonderful world of CRPGs. What would happen if the Descendant of the Vault Dweller fought the Nameless One?
Some factors I see coming into play:
Heroic deeds: The Chosen One (TCO) changed the face of the wasteland, for good or evil, and he did it in one lifetime. The Nameless One (TNO) managed to exist for an intermitable amount of time before he got it right, and even then, most of his heroic deeds affected individuals, not communities.
Advantage: TCO
Companions: TCO has Sulik, Cassidy, Myron, Marcus, and Vic. I’ll give TNO Morte, Dak’kon, Fall-From-Grace, Annah, Vhailor, and Nordom.
Individual match-ups:
Sulik will throw a wobbler when seeing a floating, talking skull-bone. Point to TNO.
Dak’kon vs. Cassidy: Dak’kon would take a hit from buckshot, before closing to melee range and filleting Cassidy.
Myron will attempt to talk Fall-From-Grace and Annah into bed with him at the same time. His groin will be removed and fed to him prior to his repeatedly being struck by lightning.
Vhailor vs. Marcus:
Vhailor: Yield to the law!
Marcus: I AM the law.
Vhailor: [collapses in a fit of existential uncertainty. Empty armor is raked by minigun fire]
Vic vs. Nordom: Think Dak’kon vs. Cassidy, but with a wrench instead of a karach blade and crossbows instead of shotguns.
TCO wins companions.
If they fought at the height of their respective powers:
TNO: COULD YOU [melts, reforms] PLEASE STOP [melts, reforms] FIRING THAT [melts, reforms] DAMN PLASMA RIFLE AT ME? YOU’RE NOT DOING A BIT OF [cut in half by laser, grows new legs] GOOD, YOU KNOW. WELL, YOU DID START THIS FIGHT. [invokes Symbol of Torment]
Unless TCO kept the psychic nullifier from his pre-incarnation’s bit through the Master’s lair, he’s toast. On the other hand, nothing physical that TNO can muster can get through advanced power armor. So either stalemate, or TNO victory.
Any other bits of commentary?
