According to MSNBC, E!Online, and other sources, Chris Noth is returning as Detective Mike Logan, not on the original Law & Order, but on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, for their fifth season. He’ll be sharing starring roles with Vincent D’Onofrio; each actor will appear in 11 shows. D’Onofrio was in the hospital last year, due to exhaustion. Noth is also appearing on Sunday’s episode.
That might be interesting. I like D’Onofrio but his practically omniscient character gets to be a bit much at times.
I can imagine them sharing a scene together, with VD’O huffing and puffing and swaggering and speechifying, and Noth just rolling his eyes in the background.
Great news, I suppose, since I liked Logan but haven’t watched any L&O shows recently.
As much as I love Law and Order and SVU, Criminal Intent is almost unwatchable for me. Granted, I don’t watch hardly ANY tv, but have somehow over the years grown to love the two original shows.
(choie stares at thread title and faints. After reviving, she peeks into the message itself and faints again. Finally, she clicks over to MSNBC and faints a third time, but at least this time was smart enough to put a pillow down on the floor.)
Didn’t Noth’s character go to jail for punching somebody (an incredibly annoying politician?)? Does anybody know any spoilers they could box on how the character will be a cop again?
I though he was busted down to patrolman and sent out to some other precinct, but he was still a cop. Either way, not too difficult to write their way out of it if he infact lost his job.
This is good, I like the actor and the character, and Vd’O gets on my nerves from time to time. A split role is not a bad idea.
I loveL&O and SVU, and I like Vincent D’Onofrio a lot, but CI has never appealed to me that much. I may have to watch it some now that Dt Logan’s going to be providing a human counterpart to Dt Goren’s superhuman knowledge.
Hijack, but could you explain more about this, please? That is, if there is indeed a story behind this.
Michael Moriarty seems to suffer from amental illness. He currently resides in Canadda because as he said in an interview: “God told him to take his family and flee the U.S.” and he claims to be a political exile. He said hewas forced to leave the show after he threatened to sue Janet Reno.
Occasionally he writes “open letters” and op ed stuff. Like “Barbara Streisand: The New Janet Reno” – apparently he also claims that Streisand is a big reason why he left the U.S. because she was single handedly out to destroy Ronald Reagan the greatest Republican president.
The interview I saw several years ago, he was disshevelled, confused, almost drooling, and certainly batshit crazy.
ahem Let me correct that last statement to “he certainly appeared to be batshit crazy” lest the statement appear libellous. I do not know for sure if he is batshit crazy, but he has made some “unusual” and “uncomfortably erratic” live appearances.
I absolutely LOVED the part where Logan sits at Goren’s desk, picks up an abnormal psychology textbook, then tosses it away with a dismissive who-reads-this-crap? look.
