We won? Wait until you read their side of what just happened! I predict claims of victory, huzzahs and congrats for all the annonymous louts involved, and declarations of sainthood for themselves, and condemnation to hell for us.
But we all know the book of Libertarian is apocryphal.

Well, Slythe, their opinion was of no importance to me before, so they can shout “hoorah” all they want. If I might borrow one of their pet phrases, “We know The Truth”.
Lib;
Are you saying they weren’t issued trumpets, or did they just fail to properly tune them?
“I should not take bribes and Minister Bal Bahadur KC should not do so either. But if clerks take a bribe of Rs 50-60 after a hard day’s work, it is not an issue.” ----Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, Current Prime Minister of Nepal
They are indeedy. But some of 'em have been defending us in some way! There are some decent people over there too (I’m not just saying that because some aren’t attacking “us”) but there are a heck of a lot of jerks, from what I’ve seen.

Whew!
I am greatly relieved that the Book of Libertarian was not recognized by the Roman religion politicians.
Lucky:
Oh, I think they were issued trumpets. They just ate theirs.
Gaudere:
Unbelievable.

Man, I always miss all the fun. Happy New Year SD’ers! Consider routing the Left-Backers your last good deed for the year.

Lib, it takes a lot for us to wind up on the same side of an issue, but sonofagun, the Leftbehinders have pulled it off!
We may have very different philosophies, but I’ve never had doubts about the genuineness of your faith in Christ. And never in a million years would I confuse you with the LBMBers.
RTFireFly:
Peace for the day, my friend. And thank you.

That was the most fun this board has seen in weeks; I’m sorry it is apparently all over.
I’m reminded of that movie with Shirley Booth:

Thanks for the quote, Gaudere. I’m impressed by them…apparently we’ve been terminated (yup, they terminated me - oh no!) there for no reason other than our SDMB affiliation. Got to admire their zeal in pulling out the bad seed by the roots, since they can’t deal with us by any other means. Their moral cowardice is impressive.
First of all, from the title of this thread, you can’t be a Christian and hate Jesus. It just doesn’t work that way.
For those of you who claim to be athiests, I have a question for you: Do you get MAD when someone talks about Christianity? Or do just not care? There’s a reason why I ask this, and I’ll let you know after I get some replies.
God bless!

There is a reason for everything, no matter what happens to us.
It depends entirely upon the context, Victoria Rose.
I do not get mad at every mention of a religious leader whether it is Jesus, Bhudda, Muhammed, Lao-Tzu, etc.
If I perceive an approach as confrontational or condescending I respond accordingly, whether or not religious figures are mentioned.
Do you get mad any time someone denies teh divinity of Jesus or the marality of Biblical accounts?

I am a Christian (Baptist no less!! ::gasp:: ), and I don’t know if I’m considered a fundie or not, but even if I am, I wouldn’t conduct myself in the manner the LBMBers did. Being a dick doesn’t make people like you or what you believe in. If you truly love Jesus, don’t hate those that (in your own mind) hate you, love them. Novel idea, isn’t it? I think it may be in the Bible somewhere… While I’m at it: why does every (rash generalization) attempt at witnessing on this board begin with discussion of HELL? If you want to do it RIGHT, talk about how much God loves them, not how much he’s just itching to press the button to send them to hell. GOD ALMIGHTY! How many people have you turned away from Christ because you can’t show His love?
“Little children: Love one another.”
-John, the disciple whom Jesus loved
I get upset when someone denies Jesus Christ as their savior, but I pray for their salvation as much as I can. I can’t say that I get angry. Like I stated before, it takes quite a bit to get me angry, and even more before I spout off.
God bless!

Lib, Rupert, Falcon, and the other * native * Christians.
The hard part is going on from here, and speaking out in faith, without standing in judgement of “those” Christians either. So shall we be judged as well. A great temptation is before us, and we must help each other turn away from it. Whether it was rude, fearful, or simply uncivilized, what the visitors have done is not for us to judge in the realm of their spirit, only in the world. I don’t much care for it, in civil discourse, but am not qualified to judge in spirit.
For those here who are not of the Christian faith, I only wish to point out that not every one who uses his name speaks his words.
So, let me be the first to say it. I am a Christian, don’t follow me. I am saved by the Lord Jesus, but ** I ** had nothing to do with that. I am full of egotistical crap that makes me try to impress strangers on message boards, and you will surely be lost for eternity if you listen to ** me! ** I think He loves you, and will speak to you, before you must stand in judgement. I have no fear for your spirit, if you will only let your heart withhold judgement of Him, until you have heard from Him. Many other Christians and I are but sinners. We seek to share our faith out of love for God, and Man, but have no right to judge you. You have every right to judge us by our words and deeds, but please limit your judgement to us, and let our Lord speak to you for Himself.

I get your point, and it’s a good one. But I’m not judging anyone. I’m just sweeping out the temple.

Then all these Crusaders waging their Jihad need to stop acting like they hate Him.
“In that day, many will call upon me saying, ‘Lord, did we not do mighty works in your name?’ And I will say to them, ‘Get away from me you evildoers! I never knew you!’” — Jesus

One can certainly call oneself a Christian and hate Jesus. One can call oneself a Christian and treat people who believe differently like an enemy, a soul to be conquered, or like a whole bunch of other things, rather than treating them like a person whom God loves, a person for whom Christ died. One can call oneself a Christian and believe that zeal for someone else’s spiritual well-being overrides any need to show respect for them, or to let them work out their own salvation -whether in fear and trembling, or not.
One can wave Jesus high as a tribal totem, and hate him. In fact, that’s the best way to profane His name. Saying ‘damn’ is small potatoes compared to that.
