I also happen to think that Ryan McPartlin, also of Chuck, would have made a great Captain America.
I have to agree with the height criticism. Sure you can change hair color and build but if you try to make someone look taller through movie magic you just make it more glaringly obvious that they are trying to make someone look taller. I call this the Tom Cruise Effect.
Meh. I don’t think Lucy Lawless is more than 5’9 or 5’10, but she pulled off Xena quite well. Of course, I seem to recall that one of the rules of casting for that show was an embargo on women taller than her.
That said, I think she’s probably too old. Wonder Woman should be perpetually 27. I hate myself for thinking that. Somebody slap me.

I agree. Hendricks is 35 now, which means she’d be 38 when production starts. She’ll be old enogh to be the fan boys’ mother.
Which is not to say that I wouldn’t want her to play a super-hero or super-heroic character. Add some tricky camera angles a la the hobbits in Lord of the Rings or Hagrid in Harry Potter, and she’d be a wonderful She-Hulk. But Wonder Woman, though unquestionably a mature woman (more mature than Jenny) is supposed to look under thirty.
I like seeing myself in her.
Oh please. Every time a actress gets even mildly well known there is a rumor that she is either in talks to play, or wants to play, Wonder Woman. :dubious:
I just wish they would make a Wonder Woman movie, even with some no name, just so the flavor of the month can spread rumors that she "in talks" to play some other role.Consider, for instance, all the buzz about Kathy Bates playing the champion of Paradise Island after her star-turning role in Misery. I think Angela Bassett and Natalie Portman have both been considered as well.
Hendricks would need to drop 20-30 pounds of fat and put on at least 5-10 pounds of muscle to do the role justice. Go for it, say I.
Christina Hendricks is now on my list of actresses who I will one day capture with a net and take to my secret volcano lair.

Anyway, I’d vote for Sarah Lancaster. She looks like Wonder Woman now, without costume and makeup. She could pass for Lynda Carter’s daughter.

My undying love for Christina Hendricks doesn’t make her any less absurd for the role of Wonder Woman. I could get behind Sarah Lancaster, but I’ve always pictured Alexa Davalos.

I’ve put Christina Hendricks in the same category as Megan Fox, as in I’m not really sure what all the hype is about. She has pale skin, a short torso, ridiculously ugly feet, and a sort of fatty pudgy body. She’d be a terrible choice for Wonder Woman in my opinion. Wonder Woman needs to be tall (about 6’0") and physically imposing with a strong yet feminine voice and enough muscularity that it actually looks like she could take on Superman. She’s not supposed to look like a porn star.
