Chuck- Nov. 12 - open spoilers

Presumably the last episode (on campus) where it was revealed that Chuck had scored better than everyone else, he could/would become Bryce’s replacement for said supercomputer.

Except Bryce wasn’t supposed to have looked at the intersect information. Of course, we don’t know yet what made him break into the room, blow up the intersect and try running.

My understanding was that Bryce was responsible for creating the intersect - based on his studies with the proffessor (of which Chuck was arguably better at).

My guess for next season:

Casey is ordered to terminate Chuck, but he can’t go through with it. The two of them go on the lam (fighting threats to the nation along the way), and Sarah is left to be their inside man and to deal with the people Chuck left behind (ie Morgan and Ellie). At some point, there’s a major threat that the government can’t deal with, and that Chuck’s data is too old to handle. Chuck, who is uniquely suited to handle the intersect, is given the intersect 2.0, and is made an official agent.

I have a theory. You see, Sarah and Bryce were a fake couple, just like Sarah and Chuck. It stands to reason that the several weeks that turned into months that turned into years of being close to Ms. Strahovsky but not able to actually do anything results in a monster set of blue balls that caused Bryce to go completely insane. Yep, perfectly logical.

I think that an Intersect 2.0 would be the way to go to try to keep the show going. Chuck could be trained as an agent with the advantage of Intersect info. If the writers have any balls, they’ll pull a Wesley Wyndam-Pryce and make him toughen up as the years go by until he is a certifiable badass. By season four, he’ll be married to Lou with a baby on the way, but be a total asshole to her because of work-related stress. He’ll be fucking Sarah on the side, and capable of things that would make Casey cringe. Morgan will be in hiding because he discovered Chuck’s secret, tried to help, and inadvertently angered the Yakuza in the process. Captain Awesome will be dead.

I dare you, NBC.

It could be bunnies?
sorry

In a previous episode, we learned that Bryce was a good guy. Until then, we thought he was a bad guy, so his stealing the intersect could be written off as a bad guy move. But now it’s clear that there’s something amiss with the government spy racket, and Bryce sent that stuff into Chuck’s head on purpose because he knew Chuck was not only capable of handling it, but that he was a good person and would do the right thing.

We don’t have a clue where this plot thread is going, and there’s plenty of possibilities for that to blow wide open in the season finale and kick off the plot to season 2. For instance, Chuck could flash on one of the ‘good guys’ and realize what the evil plot inside the government is - and it could involve his handlers - the ones on the videophone. They could order Casey and Sarah to kill Chuck, or even try to have them all whacked, and the three of them could go deep undercover against their own government with Chuck’s knowledge of the intersect keeping them one step ahead of the feds.

Along the way, there would be plenty of misdirection. For instance, it could turn out that Casey and/or Sarah were part of the evil plot, but Chuck can’t know that since then they’ve had second thoughts.

To me, that’s a more likely plot direction than the one above.

What do they need such good eyesight for anyway? :dubious:

Okay, finally watched the DVR.

One point that I don’t think that anyone else has pointed out… the whole bit with Chuck confessing the secret to his comatose sister… anybody think that she’ll actually turn out to remember that? There’s a tradition of that sort of thing in ‘secret identity’ dramas - one close friend or family member finds out the truth by accident, and can thus help cover for Our Hero, and also serve as a confidant.

I’m also curious as to how many, (if any,) episodes Rachel Bilson will be coming back for, considering that she’s commented that she wants to focus on feature films instead of episodic TV and is probably worried that she’s been thoroughly typecast on a Josh Schwartz show already. (Alternatively, considering how big a break ‘the OC’ was for her, she might think that as long as JS wants to keep paying her, she’ll work with him.)
