Cinnabon Triple Chocolate Bites

One of our local Cinnabons (San Jose, CA–Oakridge Mall, to be exact) has started selling these little bits of chocolate goodness called Triple Chocolate Bites. They consist of a chocolate cake/brownie-type shell wrapped around very yummy chocolate filling and topped with chocolate icing. You get six of them in a box. I’d held off on trying them because I’m still doing Weight Watchers and I was afraid I’d like them (plus I couldn’t get any nutrition information from their website, which doesn’t even refer to them), but eventually I succumbed. I was right–these things are fantastic! (I split a 6-pack with the spouse so it wasn’t too bad of a transgression).

So anyway, at another local mall (Valley Fair, Santa Clara, CA) I tried to order them and was met by blank stares. The folks there had never heard of them. Hmm, I thought. Interesting. So I call Cinnabon’s customer service line, figuring I’d wanted to get the nutrition info anyway (I assumed they were too new to go on the website) and was informed that they don’t have it yet because Triple Chocolate Bites are in a test-marketing phase.

So now that I’ve discovered I love these things, I’m afraid they won’t be around much longer. Hence, my questions:

  1. Who else’s local Cinnabon is selling Triple Chocolate Bites?

  2. Where are you located?

  3. If you’ve tried them, do you like them?

Needless to say, I’m hoping they go over well so they’ll add them to the menu. If you haven’t tried them, you like chocolate, and your Cinnabon is selling them, give yourself a treat and help a great product get launched.

(And no, I have no affiliation with Cinnabon whatsoever, other than consuming way too many calories there over the years  )

From the Cinnabon website…

Makara Caramel-Fudge Brownies
1/4 cup butter
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. Makara Cinnamon
3/4 tsp. instant espresso coffee
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Caramel syrup
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp. Makara Cinnamon
3/4 cup pecan halves
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°. Melt 1/4 cup butter and unsweetened chocolate together over low heat. Set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs with whisk until light. Then beat in 1 cup sugar, salt, vanilla, Makara Cinnamon and espresso powder. Stir in chocolate mixture; then add flour. Pour into buttered 8" square pan. Bake 15 minutes. While bottom layer is baking, prepare caramel topping by bringing 1/2 cup butter and brown sugar to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring constantly. Boil for one minute, stirring. Add Makara Cinnamon. Remove pan from oven and sprinkle the brownies evenly with pecan halves. Carefully pour cooked caramel syrup over pecans, covering surface of brownies completely. Return pan to oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, until caramel is bubbling thoroughly. Remove from oven, then immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let them melt slightly, then gently swirl chocolate surface with spatula. Cool completely before cutting into 1" squares. Makes 24 brownies.

I found nothing about Triple Chocolate Bites, but this sounds tasty!! You might want to try baking these, letting them cool, and then schmearing with chocolate icing.

Those do sound good! Probably a little too good for my Weight Watchers daily point totals, but good nonetheless. Maybe if the TCBs disappear I’ll find an excuse to console myself with them…
