Cinnamon Imp Is in Hospital [Update, good news]

Folks, just letting you know that Cinnamon Imp (previously Hermette) is in hospital and scheduled for (unexpected) surgery tomorrow morning.

She seems in good spirits and hopefully will be back with us before too much longer.

Ooh, I’m sorry to hear that. Please pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Cinnamon Imp, get well soon!

I hope everything goes well and she feels better soon!

Oh, dear. Does this have to do with the ectopic pregnancy she reported over in the August mini-rants thread?

Be better, Imp.

Would sending cinnamon milk to a Cinnamon Imp be redundant? I guess it would be messy, and I’m a bit too far to bring a thermos in person…

Get well, Imp!

Dang - hope it doesn’t mess up her weight loss goals!

Get well soon, Cinnamon Imp!

Thanks everyone! I’m gowned up and about to go in for surgery, so of course I’m posting here while I still can :stuck_out_tongue:

Morgyn, it does, yes :frowning: The drugs that were meant to stop cell division didn’t do the trick, and the wee misplaced bundle of cells grew a heartbeat over the weekend. So they’re going in to remove it and the fallopian tube this morning. No rupture (whew) yet!

ZipperJJ - LOL! Well, I’ve been fasting since yesterday lunch in case of sudden rupture, so that"l help right? No 10K run for me next month now though, ah well.

Still better than dying of blood poisoning, right?

Ack, I’m sorry,** Cinnamimp** :frowning: I hope you feel better soon {CinamonImp}

Nava - sadly I’m fasting, so no cinnamony food or drink for me! Thanks anyway though

All good thoughts for a successful surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Surgery was successful thanks! I’m a little “uncomfortable” but nothing I can’t handle. My blood pressure is a bit low, which they weren’t happy about, but it could just have been dehydration.

Hopefully that’s finally the end of this drama - expect a “Ask the chick trying to get pregnant with only one Fallopian tube!” thread in several years

Note to future Cinnababies: it’s OK to ask for directions, promise.

Do you know what your usual BP is? It’s one of those values which have pretty wide ranges within the population, so knowing what’s normal for you is important. My BP’s usual values are “below floor level”: if it shows high it’s more worrisome than for other people, if it shows low it’s business as usual.

Sending healing thoughts your way! Good luck!

Glad it was a success, but sorry you had to go through it. My recovery from my ectopic surgery was pretty fast - I was back at work within five days. I hope yours is just as fast.

Same here. I’ve had nurses ask me, quite seriously, how it was I was walking around, much less working, with such a low blood pressure. Oh, and low blood sugar typically, too. Yet I’m a hyper-ass most of the time. It swung the other direction for a couple years, which alarmed me, and now has settled down to…completely normal. 120/80. Which freaks me out, 'cause to me that is HIGH, but the docs say that’s normal. :smack:
CinnamonImp, hope you’re back to kicking butt very soon. Glad it’s over!

Thanks EmAnJ - yep, surgery was Tuesday morning, they’re sending me home soon (Wednesday lunchtime).

I don’t have work as such to go back to, but I do have a full time toddler to chase about, which won’t be the easiest! Plus I’ve still got all the fun side effects of the methratrexate (sp?) too. Ah well, no point being negative about it.

They say it shouldn’t affect me getting pregnant in the future, but I must get early scans, at week 5 or 6, as I’m now more likely to have another ectopic again.

Oh, and if my mother asks, it was an ovarian cyst, I’ve only been with my partner since May (yes, the guy from the Ongoing Online Dating thread!) so she doesn’t need to know we had been doing anything, let alone been careless enough to get caught out!

(damned morning after & mini pill!!)

This is quite true–I have only one tube (ruptured ectopic and tube years ago), and have had three children.

Hope you are soon feeling better!

Get well soon!

May I ask what hospital it was? My dad used to work at one near there.

Yup, having one tube shouldn’t be a problem. My RE said that the body can tell which side is best and will generally ovulate on that side more often.
