City of Heroes Super Team FINAL JOINING INFO

I got the comic book also.
Issue 1 baby! This thing will be worth $100,000 some day!

*assuming 99.9% of people who got it don’t keep the issue and the series continues and becomes popular, a movie is created based on it, etc.

Interesting.

Yesterday, for the first time, one of CoH’s “clean” crashes (the kind that prompts you to describe the crash) prompted me to save the resultant zip file. Apparently all my other crash reports didn’t get to tech support? So I attached it to an e-mail and sent it in. They started working on the problem later the same day… so I’m pleased with the response time.

Greetings, thou mortals. While you languish upon this mortal coil, unknowing of the fate that lies beyond the misty barrier of death, bear in mind this advice from the Stranger. You can ascend to the tops of buildings, yea unto the very sky itself, without the aid of special abilities or fire escapes. How, you ask? You dare to question the Stranger, incredulous mortal? … Very well. Though I disdain interference, the ascent can be easily achieved. You must find a column of windows on the building… facing straight at them, walk up to the building… so close that it seems naught separates you from the brick. Then you must press your spacebar… but be thou cautious, mortal! You must be holding no directional key at that time. In mid-leap, you must press thy form more firmly against the building. If the window be low enough, you shall find thyself perched upon it’s narrow sill. You can repeat the process, ascending first to the top border of the window you leap from… and from there, to the sill of the next window up!

Duty calls, mortal. Nay, I cannot give you my name, for I have none to give… even to those who know me best, I must forver remain… a Stranger.

The Strange Stranger has spoken, and the rest of us wish he never had

Best way to get to the top of a building is to tell Drone 47303 to teleport up there, and then have him bring you. Just hope that it doesn’t remember its programming and teleport you while it stands on the edge of the building.

Today’s advice is about invulnerability. No, not tankers’ or scrappers’ invulnerability. I’m talking about civilians’ invulnerability. Civilians are invulnerable and impervious to injury from any attack. Attacks will even pass right through them. They can leap from a building of any height and will land unscathed. We heroes need to learn to tap into civilians’ great power and use it for ourselves, before the Rikti do.

This blatant bump brought to you by…
Jim Beam

in reference back to the window jumping/wall crawling…

there is nothing like the thrill of targetting a bad guy way down below you on the sidewalk and launching an attack from up there, plummetting to the ground and pounding on him… a kick or “Air Superiority” launched from the top of a building with 30+ stories of free-fall behind it should automatically kill (it doesn’t, just normal damage with a little vertigo for the computer operator)… but it a lot of fun!

I have done over 50 points of damage to myself jumping off… but what a rush! I gotta find something taller I can get on… so I can jump off of it! We could even start a C.E.C.I.L. Sky-Diving Team!!! (or not…)

When I first got Hover at level 6 for my tanker Theory, the first thing I did was fly to the top of tallest building I could find. Of course, I couldn’t actually reach the top, because it poked above the sky (that’s why it’s called a skyscraper, boys and girls).

I jumped from as high as I could go, and lost something like 250 hit points. All but two. And it was fun! Once I can truely Fly (and it takes less than ten minutes to reach the sky) I might bellyflop into the streets more often.

Something mentioned earlier in this thread is the annoying tendency of CoH to set monitor refresh rate to an eye-hurting 60Hz. I have a solution. MultiRes is a free tool from the fine folks at Entech. It sits in the system tray and allows you to change monitor resolutions without going into Display Properties. The latest version also allows you to lock monitor refresh rate.

I think I’ll be jumping off Atlas tonight. Anyone wanna join?

Hmmm… A potential frabjuous day … I may have fixed my primary crash problem, with a BIOS patch. We’ll see.

Pleonast, if you’re like me, you may crash more than you expect. I keep forgetting (a) turn off sprint and (b) flight uses endurance. Dangerous combo when you are somewhere you shouldn’t be.

I’m still waiting for City of Villians so I can target and blast Drones, especially 47303.

I usually only use Hover for short periods of time. It’s just too slow for most travel purposes. I can even climb fire escapes faster than using Hover to get to the top of a building. I’m getting better at window sill hopping too. Soon I will have flight and the ground will be a distant memory.

If you think Drones scurry, wait until you see a Drone on Speed Boost (helpfully supplied by Volt Valkyrie). It’s dizzying how fast their stubby little legs go.

Interesting. When you jump, or fall from a high place, you’ll lose all but two HP. I just got super jump last night, was playing around with it, hit the sky, and decided to jump from the building to the ground to see how much damage it would do: 450+, two less than my total.

Four levels until burn, four levels until burn…

Some of these are really funny… Scott Kurtz definitely plays this game.

You still sore over that whole “haha I’m faster than you thanks to my spatial displacement powers”? :stuck_out_tongue: I won’t do it again, at least what with my self spatial displacement powers, 'cause I won’t need to, now that I’m really faster.

Ladies and Gentlemen, and Sidekicks of all ages… I believe I’ve eliminated my recurring crash problem. Of course, it was so inconsistent before, it’s hard to say. But I’ve played for several hour stretches on each of the preceding nights with nary a reboot in sight… just a handful of normal crashes.

So I’m safe to team with again, I think.

Mmm. Scrappers are to get Something Special, says Statesman.

Mmmmm. Scrapper love.

I finally got the free comic yesterday. I was beginning to wonder if it was lost in the mail. Somewhat interesting story, ok artwork.

PVP Comic is great, I read it regularly. Read his first series mentioning CoH.

What what what? Was there an announcement of this kind? Or are you rambling? Want to know!

Statesman’s statement of scrapper love.

Complete Patch Notes as some were left out.

The Dev Digest , learn it, read it.

Also, Statesman’s sorry for something.

Whee… wish I had time to patrol the CoH boards, the SDMB, AND play CoH… but I don’t. Thanks!

I note from the CoH website that Statesman will be putting in appearances at Origins! I may have to make time for that while I’m there.
